way to fix review section

first of all, i don't know if it's possible or not to encode this sort of feature... i know very little when it comes to computer science... but here it goes anyway:

 

on amazon.com every review has a little button under it asking if you found the above review to be helpful or not.

 

first, i think we should employ this feature for the reviews

 

second, i think that the "most helpful" review (as measured by how many people voted it as being helpful) should automatically appear at the top of the review page, the second most helpful would appear second, and so on...

 

this would filter all the little @!#$ reviews and senseless babbling to the bottom of the page where nobody would have to read it.

Of course but then reviews related to other reviews would have no sense if the order of appearance is not the same as the order of postings ... that's the problem and this one is extremely difficult to manage (no way else than administrating all reviews by reading them & eventually edit them)

i realize that this system would sacrifice chronology for convenience, but it seems a worthwhile one, given all the crap being posted lately...

well Children, why should one review depend on another ? its only that way because we have ourselves a forum there instead of review section ))

 

but what would stop people from clicking on the button under their own review ?
