Guest kingdok
I'm sorry, but the Frankie Goes To Hollywood remix on Joujouka's new album is just...stupid. "Relax don't do it When you want to go to it Relax don't do it When you want to come..." Did someone request this? Is this Mr. Suzuki's idea of humorous nostalgia, like when a trance artist decides to insert a random Pulp Fiction sample into an otherwise fine track? Are we witnessing the beginning of an 80's renaissance? Good God, what IS this? I'll go on to voice my opinion that most of the vocal tracks on "New Asians" blow. Tracks 1-3 are misleadingly awesome, but the album takes a swandive from there. Am I the only person shaking their head in disapproval? The people who responded to my earlier thread seemed to be lapping it up like so much nourishing gruel. I've been waiting patiently for the new Boom Boom Satellites to be released in the US, and was hoping the new Joujouka would help fill the void. It didn't. P.S. -- Oh, and it's mixed, too. Note to artists : Stop mixing your albums! Let the DJs do it!
Guest cali fasi
tsuyoshi is not a trance artist

Guest kingdok
Cali Fasi : I never said he WAS a trance artist. Did I give any implication that I thought "New Asians" was trance? No. I said "like when a trance artist decides to..." but that was a comparison of behaviors, not musical styles. Go back and read that sentence again. And, basilisk, if you're going to muddy the forums with random nouns, do it on your own thread.
shpongled
Heh... well I certainly want to hear that remix. Why do you think it's stupid? Because You don't like it?
Guest kingdok
I thought that much was obvious.
Guest bugbread
Ok, guys, just relax...
shpongled
If I don't like some music I don't think it's stupid to put it on some album. Somebody else might enjoy it and I respect that. There is no need to argue musical preferences because it's simply question of taste.
Guest kingdok
Who am I arguing with? I'm merely voicing an opinon which (correct me if I'm wrong) is half the point of these forums.
shpongled
With Mr. Suzuki. Ok.. so you are voicing an opinion. Now could you tell why is that track on that album stupid?
Guest kingdok
*sigh* Because - it - is - a - cover - of - a - lame - 80's - song. Now that sort of thing may engorge YOUR erogenous zone, but when I hear the mastermind behind Prana and the first Joujouka album do a cover of a lame 80's song, it taints my opinion of the man. Guest kingdok
The whole pie-in-the-face anecdote is news to me. Kind of amusing, actually. 'Makes me feel better. Thanks, basilisk!
Guest bugbread
Hehe...I hadn't heard it either. I'd pay money to see it though. Tsuyoshi was the very first goa DJ I heard live and it was wonderful. 5 years later and I avoid events specifically because he is scheduled to play. Oh how the mighty have fallen. Guest eris
is takeshi isogai [ubar t'mar] still a part of joujouka? nobody's mentioned him,and i would be interested to know, being one of the [seemingly] few people who thought that his 'true' was one of the most abstract and ground-breaking trance cd's of the last few years.if they do an abstract version of 'relax',then i can't wait to hear it!--bizarre! Guest bugbread
Nah, Ubar Tmar (Takeshi Isogai) left a good while ago. Now it's Tsuyoshi, DJ Funky Gong, and Mitsumoto from Sinister Association.
