Guest balalien
About the dancing You take the hand of the man next to you, he takes the hand of the man next to him and so on, until you do one BIIIG circle. And you're moving in the rythm of the music Kidding.. Have you ever been on a party? If not, go and you'll get the answer. Once I was on a party and I was in bad mood. When the good music begun I've begun danceing too, few beers and...It was excellent. You'll get the rythm as it comes through the waves of sound (yahel), and you'll dance. Follow the bass...dunno. You'll see. Aleksandar, Macedonia
Guest dam10n
enjoy it dude and definitely check hallucinogen and infected mushroom - those 2 with astral will make the basic trumvirate of trance from which you can catapult to years of sh1t hot music! and dancing - just throw yerself into the sound and whirl about like a madman... the psychedelic scene is the least snobby dancing wise out of them all. Guest Afghanfan
What do you ppl know??? Stop misleading the poor fellow. OK my friend. Here is how it really is. You have unknowingly started the initiation ritual. Today you have been brainwashed by the subversive programmming behind this website. Tomorrow you will wake up and automatically, in a trance-like state switch your pc on (which in fact is a warp gate to the 5th dimension) and make psynews.org your home page Then by the time the w-end comes you'll have found out about some trance dance event inyour area and have pre-booked tickets and psychoactive substances. On friday you'll head out to the best shoe shop in town and buy yourself the spiffiest dancing shoes. sandals work well. Unless you're in a packed club then I recommend something with metal caps. OK, the night of the party... After entering the party you'll probably notice the motion of the ocean - yeah, that's the trance floor. It will be calling for you. Don't hold back man, I promise you, you won't drown. Just dive in head first. Just remember at around 03:00 in the morning it is traditional to participate in the One leg hop gum boot stomp. The music will stop for a second beofre this ritual. Then dolly parton music comes on and everybody goes yeeeehaaaa partner ride em like a donkey!!!! Man if you survive this then you are in!! Just beware the donkey dong. have fun ;-) Peace in
khogg
Mike D has some good suggestions for you (music wise). I would like to add the following artists: Jaia (get this NOW), Cosmosis, Transwave & there's lots more. As for the dancing part, only you can decide. I spend a lot of time dancing in my head. Guest Mark
Hold on for constant beats echoeing through your head. People always look at me funny when i start dancing to them.
Guest newbie
thanx a lot guys, looks like i've been missing out a lot.. can u tell me a little more about the proper shoes (had no idea they were so important) and of course about the psychedelic substances, which i assume are mdma, speed and lsd .. hmm i live in nyc, and it looks like there are lots of events in the city so i guess i will make this website my homepage and book a ticket or two ) peace! Guest Afghanfan
I was kidding about the shoes... Personally I wear light sneakers, because the general tendency when that 4/4 kick (as i call it: floor/floor) hits you, is to "march", well not march, but just lift your legs up and down - you'll feel 4 yourself. You'll walk the earth like Kang in Kung Fu. As for the drugs, I was joking there too. If you don't do them then don't do them - Goa will brainfuck you enough Everything else is the truth by which I live.... Peace in
Guest Inu
You are in an enviable position, newbie ;-) IMO, the Goa scene is made up of three distinct styles: full-on (everything from Astral to Aerodance), progressive (Son Kite, Shiva Chandra), and chill (Shpongle, Ooze). Those are the primary colors of this music. There are many variants, like morning music, minimal, experimental ambient and so on... don't think you have to take acid and listen to Infected Mushroom to be a psytrancer. The beauty of this scene is variety! Welcome to our weird, wonderful corner of reality...
Guest Mike D
Yo dude, please don;t rush into drugs like I did. I stuffed up and now I am getting bak to normal afetr about 3 years, though bad depression does kick in quite often :-) Just enjoy the music, you don't need anything more thna a beer or two, a bottle of water and the energy to dance, also don't listen to to mnay opinions about a particvuluar style or gorup, make your own mind up and also buy some albums, help the scene out coz no act is really rich from their music :-)
Strumpling
Newbie, I don't know if speed is a big drug in the goa scene, man... But shrooms are - sometimes people forget the fungus amongus. But as Mike D and Afghanfan (is it wierd to have your name in the same sentence as his, both of you?) had said, don't take drugs if you're not into them - There are LOTS of people in this whole scene who don't do any drugs at all, so don't feel like you need to take the drugs to "fit in" er whatever. -=- Matt/Strumpling -=- But hey if you're into drugs, bring whatever you'd like, just play it safe and be careful
