Guest Inu Posted April 4, 2002 Posted April 4, 2002 ...is the scariest track EVER! Sounds like biomechanical imps laughing and sharing a smoke, in the seventh layer of cyber-hell... Creepy voice samples, too. That resonant filter sweep freaked me out BAD back in 96 (as well as nearly blowing a speaker) -- I just got the nerve to listen again, actually, but now I'm loving it. Has anyone else been terrorized by this? Quote
Guest Flying Kundalini Posted April 5, 2002 Posted April 5, 2002 yep.. and I think the voice samples are from Jacobs Ladder Quote
Guest Inu Posted April 5, 2002 Posted April 5, 2002 On 2nd thought... replace "scariest" with "most evil". Quote
Guest Aqua Mental Posted April 6, 2002 Posted April 6, 2002 FSOL's Lifeforms was one on my first ambient cd's and I loved every track... for me among myselves wasn't so scary.... only this 'resonant filter sweep' made my heart jump out of my chest when it first struck me but after the scary beginning the track evolves to a very beautiful and light piece of music that is a perfect closure to a perfect album (and gets you prepared for disc 2 ) Quote
Guest Inu Posted April 6, 2002 Posted April 6, 2002 Evil lounge music... yeah, that's what it is. The samples are from Scanners, btw; I just looove that heart-monitor sound. Can't wait for the new album... Quote
Guest fuzzhead Posted April 8, 2002 Posted April 8, 2002 i first listened to this album on mushrooms holy @!#$ it is awesome but yea, the last part (amoung myselves) where the guy says "i think im a bit afraid" and "they were drowning me" it scared the @!#$ out of me and i couldnt listen to the second disk. now though its one of my favorite ambient albums, one of top 5 anyways Quote
