Good stuff avail on Vinyl vs CD, and some other issues

I used to get vinyl for 3 years, explicitly... I collected copies of cds for home use only, so I get a broader view of what's out there. Getting a bit pissed off that I cannot get certain things on vinyl though made me get a cdj to put in those tracks that I cannot get on vinyl.... getting one cdj made me get another cdj and I have to admit that I didn't touch my vinyl for a few months now that I got cdjs :P

As tom and lurk said above, getting certain 12" is still an option, but I would most likely burn them to cd and use them on my cdjs then.

If you start spinning now I would also recommend cds, simply because in the long run, there is going to be less and less vinyl out there.

I think mixing with vinyl is a lot easier, but NOTHING beats the precise pitching with cdjs :-) probably a big issue for me cuz the pitch on my turntables if fucked up...

Allright, but as all the audio playingstuff will be more available in future, I suppose it doesn't hurt to get vinyls. And I think it's bullshit to say vinyls get bad after a time. Basically it's true, but you need lousy stylus and *very* many playing times. I find vinyls alot cooler, can't help it. I continue buying vinyls of all that's not released on cd, and even some full albums, like antistat from midi miliz cvau se it has most of the tracks (only NUT excluded)... but yeah I know, there's no way out of the fact that cd's are here to stay. I'm gonna buy them too.

Btw, I don't understand people who say that people who play music need to buy 10 or more new records a week. It might apply to someone or some other genre but not this and not here. People in Finland are so unfamiliar with psyscene so everything is basically new. Besides, "make best out of what you already got" is good phrase. Very often dj's don't play some tracks cause they're not "hits", soem very good tracks are left unplayed. Sad.
