Guest piginspace
Hi, I'm trying to decide, where to go in January -- THailand or Brazil; for all sorts of reasons, I won't be able to get to either place for the New Year, so I'm gonna miss the big parties (the one on Ko Phan Gan, or the New Year's party in Trancoso), and that sucks. Basically, my question to people who have been to these places, what's going on there between "big" parties, are there smaller parties that keep going on all the time? For ex., if I come to Ko Phan Gan early in January, but don't stay long enough to catch the next Full Moon party, am I going to see any psy-action there? What about Trancoso, Brazil? Thanks, Namaste, Love, Light and Phat Psy Beats!! -Lenya
Järsimähäiriö
Oh sweet, that's THE EXACT same dilemma I'm going through right now! I was actually supposed to fly to Goa and Gokarna for a couple of months just around now, but this urgent work-thing came up and I had to delay my plans until min-january. I've also begun to think about the other destinations now, namely Brazil, Mexico and Thailand (but no Phangan for me, there are others too), but I haven't come up with any final conclusion. My main concerns are, well, the general atomsphere of the destination and naturally the costs (as I've planned to stay for good while). This is likely going to be the last winter for awhile when I can travel long-term, so I'd like to make it special (well, it'll be pretty darn special anyway since my only previous trip was 6 weeks in Goa/Gokarna last winter, so I'm a real virgin-traveller). Guest piginspace
Speaking of fuckin' problem with accomodation -- I can just bring a tent and camp there, can I?

Guest piginspace
Seriously, why? The party website says that they have large camping grounds relatively close to the party location... I thought it would be way cool to camp in the jungle. Much more difficult to keep an eye on your stuff though, I guess. Anyway, thanks for the advice, I'll investigate if I can still make reservations for one of those bungalows.
Guest Rami
U welcome man..... Dance for all of us that stucked in every place and not in Thailand. I'll be there at 1 of February. C U Boom!!!!
Guest piginspace
I'll be more than happy to dance my ass off for all of you... It looks like I'm actually gonna make it to the island for the New Years party, arriving on the 30th or 31st. Finding a bungalow is definitely gonna be a bitch then, so I'm bringing a tent just in case. I hope I'll still have time to meet other freaks and find some, shall we say, fuel before the party begins.
Guest CosmoCarpenter
Rao! This is a transmission from Soononmoon. Probably you don´t know us. But we do know some of you. Since 1997, life is better for us. We were on the beach when we saw the storm coming. And we were smiling. An old, warm, remote, familiar, subliminal and almost invisible wind was blowing. It was Trancoso, Bahia, Brazil. And that was the vibe. That kept shining in our cortex, reflecting our DNAs, pumping through our souls. The glimpse was then created and we´ve started Soononmoon. Now, on 2001, we are on the eye of the hurricane. And still smiling. From here, in Bahia, we´ve been floating in space with some of the dopest shamen of the techno-primitivist art known as trance. And we´ve seen some of the most neanderthal gatherings of psychonauts, alchimists and beautiful people on earth: us all, the family trance. And in trance we trust. That was the greatest inspiration for us. Now, we´d like to thank you. With heart. CURARE - tribe in trance CURARE is a healing session to the third stone of the sun. A living flashback of the time when we were dancing clapping loving and banging drums, together, celebrating the life and cleaning our spirits around a fire, under the silver moonlight. That was the vibe. And that was before TV, money and junk food. CURARE is a powerful poison used by the native amazonic indian. And it´s also a word that means "healing" in latin. We think you already got it. Soononmoon is inviting you to join us on this temporal automous zone known as CURARE. Free your mind and your bass will follow CURARE will be a three-day party on Chapada Diamantina. To be more specific, on Lençóis, an old colonial city that was born around the diamond economic cycle. This is Brazil. This is Carnival 2002. And this is for free. Literally. CURARE will be happening on a great outdoor area, on 10th, 11th and 12th february. It´s Carnival, don´t forget, and everybody is welcome. As a free party, we´re sure that we will not make money on CURARE. Neither will you. All we could really offer is your name on the thousands of flyers around the world and on the web site, a place to stay, sleep, love and keep things safe, food, the most amazing of the vibes (due to the crystal nature of the energy flowing through the floor), virgin air, water and mountains, a mammoth sound system and a irresistible way of coming to Brazil. Bring your best sounds, bring your art, bring your self. CURARE will be Carnival on a tropical-turbo-wicked way. A great healing celebration. If that interests you, please contact soononmoon@hotmail.com or reply this mail. On the next week, we´ll send news, details and a pre line-up. Keep in touch. Guest homegrowBRAZIL
Hey brothers, all of you should listen to CosmoCarpenter. I am brazilian and can guarantee all what he wrotes is perfectly right! Trancoso is magic, but RUN! Its magics is fadding during the years. The place is fucking beautiful and so, no comments, but the psy-trance scene is getting more commercial, the same problems with parties on Goa, India. But is so good to remember 96,97,98 what the hell was that??? incredible, best parties of my life, people from all over the world, lots of freaks, beautiful girls, lots of natives and so. No money parties, just everyone getting completely crazy in the jungle, what a tribal hipnotic sensation. You can find there all new drugs releases too. only the top ones. Alto do Paraiso, Goias seems to be the best psy-trance scene now, as the place is SO Fucking pretty and perfect, and the parties are no-maney too, and thats it. Brazil have a trance scene that 4 sure is in the worlds top 5, together with Thailand and Mexico any doubt just ask. Keep on psytrancing Keep on MDMA-ing Keep on rocking and keep on growing (the good stuff, please) HOMEGROWBRAZIL
