I'm actually going to Thailand!

Wuppii-ki-aye!! I'm of to Thailand on 6th of february (that's one week and counting)!!! Just finished talking to Aeroflot-Stockholm -personel and booked me an open-return ticket from Stockholm (much cheaper than leaving from Helisnki) to Bangkok via Moscow! I'm officially unemployed starting tomorrow, and had two choices, 1.) to contact the unemployment's office and hope for some little pennies or 2.), which I opted for, to read another page of this enormous book that is called The Planet Earth. I had a numerous choices, especially India and Brazil, but decided to go Thai as the tickets were inexpensive and I want to check out Campodia (and possibly Vietnam) too. Anyway, I'll try and keep you informed as the first thing I'm going to do after leaving Bangkok is to head south to witness the (in)famous full-moon party on Pha-Ngan on twentysomethinth of feb, and I'll try and hunt down some other psychedelic happenings as well.

By the, any word on our Belgian friend Manu the Roomush? I believe he is still there in SE-Asia?

Ok that's it for now, and I'm sorry if I sounded like rubbing it on your face or like I'm the number one self-eccentric person in the world, I just felt like telling you all this as I'm very excited at the moment and my computer happened to be 'on'. After all, people have shared much more personal things on this forum, too. ;)

Boms BOMS!

Hey J.!

Roomush is having a blast over there!! He's in Laos now i think, he's been travelling around Koh Phagnan & Koh Tao for his first 2 months...his travel stories sound soooo great, and that's why we're going as well at the end of february!!! Looking forward to it and counting of the days already.....but we're only going for 14 days...There's a fullmoon party on the 27th of february, maybe we'll see each other there ?!?

I hope you will enjoy your stay there!!

Bom bom bom!!!

You did take a great decision to come to Thailand my friend, the land is awesome! After having a great time on the islands in the south, I'm in the north right now, Chiang Mai. The islands are quiet addictive, it's very hard to leave, and there are parties every evening! I recommend you to go to Krabi, Railay Beach as well, beautiful nature, fire-shows every night... And the Tonsai Beach party, when I was there the music was very good in a psychedelic kind of way, hehe... Koh Pha Gnan, aaaahhh, good good, you missed a hell of a party at New Year's Eve there, I danced my feet off (litterally, could not walk for 5 days, could not go into the water for more then two weeks, but it was worth it, for sure)! Full Moon was too crowded (50000 people) but I think it was just the time of the year. It's worth to go to! But if you're at Pha Gnan don't just stay at Had Rin, check out the rest of the island. Lots of things happening on this party island. One more thing that I have to mention: if you smoke weed, there is no problem, but be carefull. When I was in Pha Gnan I saw undercover cops arresting a person two times, and each time they had to pay 50000 baht (one time at Koh Tao it was even 75000). THIS IS NOT POLICE!!! It are criminals who pretend to be cops and ask these huge prices. If this happens to you, just say that you want to go to the police station, that you won't pay at all but want to call the embassy... They will let you go. If you get arrested by real police, and this happens, you just have to pay 500 baht and they let you go. For two months I was thinking that it was 50000, but when I was in Bangkok afterwards I met this mafia-guy, and he told me stuff that really is unbelievable... So beware!

Thailand is great, a few more days and I have to leave the country, so I arranged visa for Laos and I'm going to spend time there for two weeks, and then come back to the north, Chiang Rai, Pai, then down to Sukothai, and finally end up at the islands, Koh Pha Gnan and Koh Tao! And then my trip is over, but hey, one more month to go, no worries and great memories...

Take care, It's time for a Singha!

When I flew to Helsinki in the summer of 2000, I was very amused by the airport code of Helsinki....HEL(L)....=)

All you Finnish ppl, I envy you for the strawberries you have!

Järsimähäiriö, have a nice time! I mean, you WILL have a nice time, so prepare for it! A friend of mine dj-ed at one of those famous full moon parties there in November...and he called me from there afterwards just to say how amazing it was and how I definitelly have to somehow find the money to buy a plane ticket and go....aahh...maybe if i win the lottery!

Excellent choice, option 2 sounded so much better :)

I hope you enjoy your time there, btw how long will you be there?

I will be in Goa during March/April, so if you feel like visiting India, send me an email or something and we could meet.

Anyway, good trip and enjoy yourself.

Greets from Bangkok! Arrived here yesterday after some 34 hours of travelling. Thanon Khao San didn't look too enticing so I opted for Th Rambutri located a short distance from Khao San with much more laid back setting and cheaper places to eat at. I have no strict plans but I think I'll head south towards the islands tomorrow or the day after that or the day after that... just have to decide on wether to take a train which costs more but is more cofortable or a bus which is dirt cheap.

Elfie - Yes maybe we will have a miniature Psynews.org -meeting on Pha-Ngan on 26th (I think that's the official Full Moon Party -date). Or are there more forum-visitors willing to say hello? Let me know, I'll be here for some months.

Hmmm, I could have sworn it's the 26th. Anyway, I'm at Haat Mae Nam on Koh Samui now, and it's great! Unlike everywhere else on Samui, it's really cheap here, I have a nice bungalow right on the beach, with private facilities, for around 3 Euros per day. I was to the Black Moon Party on monday but it was nothing special, they plaed mainly some chill-out so not much in terms of dancing. I'll be moving on to Pha-Ngan on friday or saturday or whenever I'll feel like it.
