Guest dEc-0-y Posted April 19, 2002 Posted April 19, 2002 in your opinion what are some acts/tracks that seem to always get underrated but yet are as/more power as some of the bigger acts/tracks, maybe even some that are weak and meaningless on small speakers yet superior on large PA systems. dEc-0-y P.E.A.C.E. - positive energy and creative expression Quote
Guest Kristian Posted April 19, 2002 Posted April 19, 2002 Cosmosis - pakhus 11, Copenhagen -97 - THE best act ever! I'd love to see them again! Quote
Guest Navigator Posted April 19, 2002 Posted April 19, 2002 I don't think Cosmosis is an underrated act...... Quote
Guest dam10n Posted April 19, 2002 Posted April 19, 2002 ...slightly overrated given intergalactic..? i'll have cosmology & intergalactic anyday Quote
Guest Navigator Posted April 19, 2002 Posted April 19, 2002 I like intergalactic; maybe this cd is underrated by some people :-) Quote
Guest Brain Posted April 19, 2002 Posted April 19, 2002 I believe Parasense are underrated by many people because of their sound production.. IMO they have the most creative and unique tracks i ever listened... -stay psychedelic- Quote
Guest Brain Posted April 19, 2002 Posted April 19, 2002 Yes Sandman too ... he is a brilliant musician ... -stay psychedelic- Quote
Guest stompie Posted April 19, 2002 Posted April 19, 2002 word on the parasense man, their shite is awesome...and really the production aint bad - it's just different - evear heard their stuff on a reallly big rig? the sounds dit sit so damn well. - if u want to hear their best produced track in my opinion it would be the 'san francisco garage.... kkakk, i forgot the whole name, anyway its on the magma rec release from a few months ago - what a storming track (not that many other good ones on that cd i'm affraid though) another under-rated band, probably cos their choons are so mad, has gotta be droidsect - i mean, it might be fuckin crazzeee, but at least it dont sound like anythin else - i don't like all their stuff, but look out for a track called poltergheist - eeeeekkk!!! i think that if u really want to find the best 'underground' psy-trance u cant go lookin in the normal places - look deep into third world (russia, south africa, brazil, and even further) for some the most interesting dancefloor movers - you may be surprised at what u find out there there are small labels popping up in these places, and they're selling limmitied releases on the local markets - but if u can get hold of some south african, or south american psytrance - u may be pleasantly surprised with the experience Quote
Anoebis Posted April 19, 2002 Posted April 19, 2002 well... I think Deviant Species is underrated!! They make huge crazy full on floor-killers! ;-) the same with Toi Doi, they are really unknown altough he makes great music!! Also in the Swedish and Australian Forest/Bush there are still alot good artists hiding...... Bom! Quote
Guest Norb-E Posted April 19, 2002 Posted April 19, 2002 stompie: thanks for the tip.... that parasense song is F$%^#$^)* KILLER MAN!!!!!! HOLY @!#$ any other cool tips ? : ) Quote
Guest Navigator Posted April 19, 2002 Posted April 19, 2002 Yes!!!! Parasense kick ass bigtime PLAY IT VERY LOUD... AWSOME Quote
Guest cyber Posted April 20, 2002 Posted April 20, 2002 I think Orichalcum (& The Deviant) is rarely mantioned and doesn't get attention it deserves. Alien Homes, Wicke Mille and their other tunes are just amaising. Quote
Guest D-Dave Posted April 20, 2002 Posted April 20, 2002 Wicked Mille is one of the best for sure. Wonderful track. Quote
Guest skeletor Posted April 20, 2002 Posted April 20, 2002 totally agree with the deviant species tip... their last album has some killers. Also Codex have some big, superbly produced tracks. Quote
Guest peace Posted April 20, 2002 Posted April 20, 2002 mr peculiar - elements - tribeadelic.........mysterical shamanic power! may the force be with you........ Quote
Guest Setsuko Posted April 20, 2002 Posted April 20, 2002 underrated ... overrated ... i actually don't care ... it's just personal taste and i realy don't want to be part of the mass opinion ... i just follow my personal feeling for that music and that's it.. but ;-) if I would be forced to mention a few releases that are imo underrated by the mass... then i would say 'atomic powder' - 'Kamaflage' .. etc just to name a few ... Quote
Guest hoffy Posted April 20, 2002 Posted April 20, 2002 Out Of Our Depth, DEFINATELY! they're beautiful but i don't know if they're still writing music.. Also anyone from the Tokyo Techno Tribe.... Kuro... Ubar Tmar.... Element.... There's probably hundreds of artists over the world who are writing kick ass trance right now that will *never* make it to a dj's crate...... Quote
Guest Honguito Posted April 20, 2002 Posted April 20, 2002 I don't know if I would call them underrated but I think "Phoney Orphants" do much better on their acts than if you play their music at home. Underrated though? I don't know. They haven't done that many tracks so I can't really say they're underrated. But if you ever get the opportunity to se them then don't miss it! Their liveact killed for example IM, Tim Schuldt, XV Kilist and other artist that get quite much attention in this scene. Phoney Orphants to the people!!! Quote
Guest tom Posted April 21, 2002 Posted April 21, 2002 Nervasystem, i don't know if he still writes trance but when he did it was awesome with a capital A. Quote
Guest stompie Posted April 21, 2002 Posted April 21, 2002 hey for all u fans of deviant species - their label Abivalent records is very soon relasing a new compilation featuring all "that" sort of music called - creeping ambivalent tendencies - maybe a little more of a thechno edge on it, but i've had a promo of it for a week now and it's got some killer tunes - one in particular that i like is by a guy scalled Scorb - it wicked psychefukindelic stuff man! - it also features the likes of dark soho, and shakta. hey Norb-e - i picked up a cd called "africa in trance" from psyshop - there is one track in particular that i would recommend off that cd if u like clever, but mad toons - "virtucon" by a guy called Shift (bet no one ever heard of him yet?!?)
