Tatsu
Well, I too think it is ok to play with MTV bands as long as IM or whoever else still make their own music. If MTV wants them to play and pays them, so why not? As long as they don't dictate them what to play or change their style what's the difference by playing the same music at a psy party or at an MTV party. It think it can do good if people who only listen to MTV hear something different at a party than the usual well known stuff. And I really doubt that IM just because the play with MTV bands now are willing to stop writing songs and playing whatever the majors want. I mean there are also artists played on MTV who write their own songs. Not every single song played on MTV is commercial crap (yes, most of the songs are, maybe about 95% of the songs, but not all). cryion
the explanation is simple: they are going megalomaniac thats it.
Ov3rdos3
i have already been told off for my harsh comments towards Infected, but i have to give them some credit with regards to a few things. they are both extremely talented at what they do. Have a listen to Dancing with kadafi or bust-a-move. they are really well put together tunes. but their style have changed and they obviously dont want to do psy anymore. If they want to be more commercial, let them do their thing. there is plenty other fish in the sea. now go damn you....see if i care!!!! SEE IF I CARE!!! *crying while lying naked in the shower* i feel so used!!!!
unikos
tatsu, you are very right... juno reactor had god is god's videoclip playing on Mtv for example.. but i dont think that if a band starts in the psy scene and later on makes more commercial appearances, it still has the same philosophy... In general, not only for IM, artists in the psy scene are not different from the crowd at parties, very often the dj at a party sees more friends dancing than random people he doesnt know.. its like a family thing. And most of the people(although the figure is dropping as i speak) in the psy scene are really against the commercialisation of music- both the artists and labels included- So, when u see IM playing with pop bands you know that its 99% chance that they dont really enjoy doing it, i.e. they re not going to have fun at such a concert... anyway all this is just speculation.. i bet that IM know what they re doing and have their reasons....
