seraph
I heard that Flying Rhino were quitting some time ago but I haven't heard anything about it. What happend to that stunning label ? What happend to Blue Room ? Also dead ? I know that Matsuri is dead for some time and Phonokol is releasing only full on these days. Dragonfly releases cool progressive trance these days. It is not bad but it surely isn't the old feel. TIP shifted to TIP World making it commerical full on label as well. Once one of the greatest labels around had to sell out or bancrupt cause hot shots trance heads got bored with music ? Bad choices have to say. Well, I am still glad that Tranceform Records is open and that 3D Vision is still functioning even though Christophe decided to make separated label. I know that nothing lasts forever but look how one ambitious label like Yellow Sunshine Explosion expanded so fast. Hey, they made 30 comps in 3 years which is not bad but you can 'hear' average tones of pretentiousness. When can we hear some fresh, unpretentious label that is only specialised in releasing quality, no nonsense music ?
pr0fane
Flying Rhino went bankrupt. Apparently they got fucked by some distributors who owed them money. Also a big loss that Blue Room closed down: They where certainly one of the most interesting labels back then. The label was only a side-thing for them as far as I know though – they still produce their famous Mini Pod speakers.

Guest djnemo
It seems to me these days that no-one really knows if its psy or techno anymore. There is what they call Full On, which deffinitely is an evolution of all the old "goa" that was released... But I would not say that the stuff that is released, the so called "Progressive" stuff is an evolution of that. Its a good evolution, but it is more like tech-trance/house/dub all mixed up. I dont like the expression Progressive because its so wide. But there are many labels out there putting out this music, and for people who like Full On, I can understand why they say its not Psy Trance. I love it though Viva SonKite and Ticon, wow what music

Redeemer
I dont like the expression Progressive because its so wide. I don't think there's anything wrong with the expression 'progressive' per se, it's just that for some weird reason in music it's usually used to describe music that is everything _but_ progressive, more like conservative. Strange.
Ormion
Phonokol new stuff sucks Dragonfly new stuff sucks (just thing that is the label of IFO,UX,MWNN etc.) HOMmega new stuff sucks TIP=TIP World new stuff sucks Flying Rhino is dead Matsuri is dead Blue Room is dead(?) Mmm..things are getting worst.. BUT!!! there are some new labels which release quality stuff Parvati and Digital Psionics are great for the Dark lovers. Tranceform's releases are only GOA Avatar is great and Acidance also and 3D Vision still kicks ass. So, it isn't so bad
pr0fane
Dragonfly new stuff sucks (just thing that is the label of IFO,UX,MWNN etc.) 198173[/snapback] Taste differs. I think they’ve released some of the best and most emotional releases this year: - The beautiful chillout album from Abakus. - The new Vatos Locos album - Easily one of the best mixtures of progressive, full on, psytrance and ambient. - The new Shakta album - In my opinion the best value-for-money album this year. It’s excellent, groovy, dark progressive trance with a hint of house, and with a marvellous extra CD with old vinyl-releases like his breaks project Digitalis, the 2001 collab “Into The Light” with Bill from Cosmosis and much more. - and let’s not forget their progressive sidelabel Kamaflage, who released the amazing Kooler album by Seb from Son Kite Dragonfly are still one of the best labels around in my opinion. Guest The Journey Man Project
ok it's pretty simple, Goa was anti=ego, just look at some of the names of old tracks, but ego has taken hold big time and it's fucked over the trance scene, including big timers like Simon Posofrd (Twisted never keeps it's promises anymore) and Phonokol, though you can still buy some absolute classix via Trust In Trance records... the ambient, chill dub whatever you wanna call it scene is completely unpretencious, focussing on beauty in ound without any ego whatsoever. I suggest if you want music that drips with LSD, trips you like mushrooms and has more emotion than any other style in any musical genres take a poke at: http://www.saikosounds.com/english/show_la...sp?label_id=107 http://www.saikosounds.com/english/show_la...sp?label_id=241 http://www.saikosounds.com/english/show_la...sp?label_id=203 http://www.saikosounds.com/english/show_la...sp?label_id=422 http://www.saikosounds.com/english/show_la...sp?label_id=505 http://www.saikosounds.com/english/display...ase.asp?id=4103 http://www.saikosounds.com/english/show_la...sp?label_id=193 and also the macao cafe series from etnica.net and the chillosophy series from digital structures... I refues to put the back room beats label associated with twisted after I met the man behind electroslide overseas only to find that neither he, nor Digital Mystery Tour or Toires received/s a single penny for their albums released so I don;t think you can get more pretentious than that, Simon Posford and his crew are arrogant egotistical wanks. Some of those labels are very new. If you missed that then u probably don't care either I like dark stuff and listed some unpretentious labels for your perusal. Dark doesn't equal pretentious. Same as your style/taste doesn't equal good, or pretentious. Its shit that the labels you enjoy have gone under or disappeared or whatever. Maybe we can have a beer or 3 over some Schlabbaduerst tunes I see that the Nabi comp has been pirated already. If the big labels like you mentioned are gone, how long will small, new, unpretentious labels last in the face of such adversity? K*#ts. I am completely not interested in this new dark trance, only in club, but for home listening I more enjoy brighter realms. Hood Posted Today, 01:36 PM I think ultimae record is a great label.
