Respect Schlab

This is one of the comments Setsuko made regarding D-Dave, the man behind Schlab and Battle of The Future Buddhas:

"you're depressed man , i hope you'll enjoy your life as much as i do ..."

To Setsuko:

I beleave you said that Schlab 2 is a masterpiece and you DID NOT buy it. Am I right? Then you accuse D-Dave for complaning, and then manage to DISRESPECT him like you did in the comment above while you STEAL his music.

I don't even wanna talk about the covers (I think they are great) because they don't matter, not to me. Just like TIP Orange, Yellow and Blue had simple covers but it DID NOT matter. What really matters is the MUSIC.

Yes, I am a hard core Schlab fan. You know why? Because they make GREAT music and are not afraid to stay underground unlike maaaaany others.

Now let's show some respect and support them.

... here we go again... man , you guys realy don't get it do you ...

.. i can't buy all the music i like do I ? well , nowadays my taste in psytrance has changed a lot ... i don't like this chaotic weird insane agressive psytrance anymore , give me minimalistic smooth tribal groovy psytrance ... so why would i even do an effort to buy all the schlabs ...

I think it's very sad to hear they've been screwed up by Flying Rhino and lost 8000USD ... and their slightly 'anarchistic' (do not turn around these words) way to release their art is fine ... but i would support this , i dunno why ... because 15USD for an album which isn't realy good mastered and hasn't got a decent artwork with it .. well i have my thoughts about this ... sorry if I dissappoint the hardcore schlab fanatics but this is my point of view ...blame me as much as you want but if it there wouldn't be AG i would never here any schlab releases ... so how are we supposed to discover music ???? here in belgium our only psytrance shop is closing doors ... and many many people i know start to order cd's from the net , after they downloaded the tracks ...

i wonder what response you fanatics will invent again ?????

and when i read things from D-Dave like this ...

"the Buddhas would have changed the psytrance world globally, not just locally. "

then i even have more thoughts about it ... that is obvious ...

btw , this forum was realy getting boring you know ... and i like it when there are dicussions , that's way more interesting ... thanx D-Dave ;-)

no offence to anybody but i just like discussions about music , don't you ?

greetings :-)

I think thats the 3rd time you quote that sentence and I think you got me all wrong. I already posted a reply on the Ka-Sol album topic, please read it.

I might add we did change the world already, you are reading this arent you? :) You need not take it in some ambitious pretentious manner, as you should understand by now we are very unambitious, both the Buddhas and Schlab. Amateurish one might say... ;) Or just plain lazy.

(And just to clarify, it was Flying Distribution that screwed us and several others by going bancrupt, not Flying Rhino Records.)

Sure, thanks for the discussion Glad to help. :)

btw Cyber ... this is what D-dave also said ... "And Im fucking depressed that we only sold 13 copies of Schlab 004 " ... so what's your point anyway.

btw D-Dave , i realy hope for you things will go much better in the future , but you realy have to start up a good promotion system if you don't want to be screwed up again , like the one with Anoebis ... you should know that staying underground is hard in this little psytrance community .. where actually the whole scene is still 'underground' ...

greetings ;-)

I am not buying any Cd's because of this discussion ... certainly not !! But I like the aggressive, dark, evil and atmospheric Psy ... actually - I love it ! Just so happens I like Ka Sol (and you were having this discussion) and I want more !

Cheers - PsiLoCyBe

Ps : Is Battle of the Future Buddhas anything like Ka Sol ... I mean, not artisticly ... but dark, powerfull and danceble ?

My answer:

Great! you used AG. Now that you heard Schlab 2 and you think it's a masterpiece BUY IT!!

Not only you don't buy it, you COMPLAIN. That's like going to some store, steal some candy and come back and BITCH about the colour of ther candy wrapper.

Schlab 001 was sold out but I wanted it so bad that I asked David to make me CDR copy and I PAID for it. Thanks to D-daves kindeness and effort I will now have the whole 100% Schlab experience. You on the other hand do like to Schlab 2 but don't like very much to support them (financially, morally or any other way). The very least you could do is say "thanks Schlab I love your comp no 2". No instead you BITCH.

Setsuko said (reply to D-Dave's comment): "the Buddhas would have changed the psytrance world globally, not just locally. "

then i even have more thoughts about it ... that is obvious ......

My answer:

Yes Schlab and Buddhas ALREADY changed the Psy Trance world GLOBALLY. They totally changed the order of my favourite 3 labels. They are from Sweden and I'm in Canada. I gues that means GLOBAL impact (and I'm not the only one that likes Schlab in Canada, ask Basilisk he'll tell you).

Setsuko said: "... it made people think and fanatics support"

My answer: I consider myself a big FAN and not a fanatic. If you don't know the difference between the two I sugesst you look up those words somewhere because they don't have the same meaning.

Epilogue: Please don't try to change others (artist or labels). Instead accept their art and love it the way it is if you like it. DO NOT try to change them and accept them for what they are. If you don't like it....well find something else you do.

but you guys don't get it do you ...

the whole subject is so funny , there are many many releases i would like to support , there are many masterpieces out there ... i'm sorry but if i spend my money on music i want decent artwork in my hands ... that's all , i do graphics myself and know how long it takes to create those good lookin' pixels ... but in here the fact is D-Dave does not have enough money for decent graphics , and he complains about low sales etc. so i gave my personal opinion (check the ka-sol topic) and all of a sudden this guy realy get's furious and start to blame me .. well , why should this be subborn anyway , i defended my opinion...

and once again , i don't like chaotic psytrance anymore ... i discovered something more my taste so why pushing me to buy this ... that's so hilarious , ha ha ha ...

just don't take it that serious , would you , D-Dave , Basiliks and Cyber and all the fanatics (woops , fans...)

psychedelic greetings , to everybody

and a big :-)

i'm here again .. just check the ka-sol topics .. what was wrong with my opinion .. it wasn't offensive at all ... but no , all i get back is furious anger ...

sorry fellows ... but it feels sad to read people call me disrespectful ... and confused ... well , i realy hope nobody will waste their time in here like i do now , this is just pointless , but you can always turn my words around and use the in a total different context...

greetz.

Hey - I didn't flame you ... I respect your opinion. You are one of many that download music, and the (maybe) buy it. It's just what people do nowadays. Others (including labels and artists) should understand that, they don't have to accept it ... just know it happens and there's not much to do about it.

As for your taste in music. Fair. It changed. Very understandable. My music interested had a bit of a twist of late and I know very well it happens. So once again, there you and your choices are respected.

Just needed to clear that.

I don't want to waste my time and energy on you Setsuko. I don't feel like going in circles with you. All messages are already posted so people can read them and form their own opinions.

This time I'd like to explain why I'm so much into Schlab.

First time I heard their 002 compilation I got the same feeling like way back in mid '90s when I discovered TIP, Blue Room, Flying Rhino, Transient, Phantasm, Matsuri and others. The sound was soooo fresh, original and psychedelic. Although it was very original, It wasn't too abstract. Uncompromising basslines with unbeleavable melody on top done like never before was a formula that at times gave me goosebumps:)

Then I received Schlab 3. Wooow!! That was some scary stuff. Take the recipe described above, add A LOT of darkness and crazy riffs a la Tim Schuldt and horror samples and that's Schlab 3.

Schlab 4 is not as heavy as previous two. It still has a lot of exitement and drama going on but it allows you to clear your mind. Perfect to listen before sunrise after you brain was scrambled with heavier stuff:)

I can't describe Schlab 001 as I'm waiting for it to arrive any day but I'm sure it will not dissapoint me.

Finally, why am I writing all this? I'm writing it in order to let people know that quite possibly 5-6 years from now we will be looking at Schlab (if they continue to release) and rank them as one of the biggest innovators and conrtibutors to our scene ever, just like we think of Twisted, 3D Vision today... or TIP, Blue Room, Dragonfly etc yesterday.

They are one of very few that dare to be different, don't follow trends, but instead set them.

Today as one of very few and privileged to know about them and enjoy their art I say

LONG LIVE SCHLAB!!!!!

"ok , then call it just trance if you think it's not chaotic enough .. you realy think people like your chaotic music you make ... okay schlabb 2 was a masterpiece but i'll spare you my opinion about the other ones ... don't you get it , godd music is good music ... bad music is bad music .... it's all a matter of tastes .

chill D-dave , frustration is pointless ... and if you don't have the money , well YOU DON'T have the money ... geezzz , how obvious... there are many things that i would like to invest in but if i can't i can' ... you're just making a fool of yourself"

Thats a quote from you Setsuko. Its written from a point high above me.

I admit that I started ranting after your and poor Akindos posts. Akindo really only wanted distribution. Sorry about that Akindo, I wasnt aiming at you, not you either Setsuko, you just happened to come up with the complaint that really annoys me.

I could feel that you were one of the ignorant people that judge music by the cover and you proved me right.

But you also said my kind of music was over (isnt that a pretty negative and completely useless thing to say?) and I replied to that.

My answer to this quoted second post was really restrained. Im not gonna go through it all again, I know you wont give up.

I just find it interesting that you say to a lot of other people that they dont get it. Maybe its you who dont get it. Maybe the two opinions are incompatible. Maybe it doesnt matter.

You do suck a lot of energy though. Its all about giving and taking. What did you give lately? I dont want your answer, it was a rethorical question...
