V/A - Raja Ram's Stash Bag 3 [TIPWorld 2004]

I'm very furious after that Bag !

Let's summarize :

15 tracks minus 1 intro, minus (at least) 7 released tracks, makes 7 badly mixed tracks....really badly mixed...and not mixed at all sometimes.

Just put your hear on 34:50 and realize what Raja Ram dares to release....

I just can't believe he is so lazy that he doesnt restart from the begining when he trashes a mix.

That day, Raja Ram got up and thought :

"Yaaaaaawn....hips...what the hell am i going to do to destroy psytrance today ? Oooh i'm gonna pack a 'Raja Ram's Shits Bag 3' !!! Let's have a look at the garbage i collected in the past months (years)...that, that, that...ok i have enough, let's mix...but before let's have a little drop to feel good...drop-drop-drop-drop-drop...oups !! hihihihihéhéhéhéwoaaah -click REC- BOOM BOOM BOOM toudoudoudoudyouuuu ! yeaaaah ! BOOM BOOM BOOMBOBOBOBMBOBMBCRRZZ....ooh i fucked up a mix ! baaaah don't need to redo it, the distributors and the people people would buy all shit i'm releasing anyway....oups i fucked up another mix, bha..."

About the tracks themselves ? The feeling of listening to one track in the first 45 minutes, including some 2 year old stuff and that shit-popcorn-silly-remix. Then, you have the now unavoidable guitar track, then one D-I-N-O-O-O track that doesn't know itself why it's here, and that makes the occasion for not mixing with the next track again, and follows 15 minutes of not so bad full on, but you're so tired of that compilation that you can't appreciate anything anymore. RHAAA

Raja, come on, be serious

would get 4/10 if it was well mixed, so deserves 3/10; forget that one.

Hmm. Lots of punches for this one... Did any of you even bother to listen to the cd?

It is a matter of opinion, sure - but no one likes to read a petty, non-constructive basher of a review.

<_<

Personally, i am getting tired of the full-on sound and some of the israeli and spun acts begin to sound identical. On the other hand, it still works wonders on a packed dancefloor anywhere in the world. But there are good moments on this cd. And 1200 Mics sure made me laugh (as is often the case) with their Peter Gunn-based High Paradise. Not psychedelic trance, sure (that would be like comparing porn with erotica) but great fun.

I had my doubts about this cd surpassing its "predecessors"... For one thing, there are no Hallucinogen- or Shpongle tracks on this one, but you have to move in new directions now and then, so I don´t blame TIP. Besides, nothing could possible top the Gamma Goblins/Crystal Skulls-combo on Stash Bag 2 - THAT was a psytrance-moment of epic proportions. :)

There seems to be a lot of piss and venegar thrown at Raja Ram at the moment... Totally unnecessary. For one thing, none of you seem to agree on who has done the mixing for the cds and, for some reason, you blame it on him.

You also seem to be forgetting something: when you release over 100 cds over a period of 10 years, you have every right to put your foot wrong now and then. No one can work miracles every time. You can´t let your sky-high expectations ruin your objective perception of a cd. Come on!

Personally, I´m glad that we still have someone like Raja out there, whose love, dedication and passion for the psytrance-scene is constantly reminding us why we all fell in love with this type of music in the first place.

  • 2 months later...

I got the unmixed version of this comp and I do agree that the tracks on it are the normal 08/15 full-on tracks. With two exeptions: 1200 Mics - High Paradise (that's the reason why I've bought this comp) and GMS - Tudo Mundo. I don't care if High Paradise is truly psychedelic or not, I've heard it at a party and enjoyed it very much. It's fun to dance to and also to listen at home. The GMS track is also very good. The break with the spanish vocals makes the track special for me, the rest is typically GMS sounding.

Another track that cought my attention is Nibiru - Paranoid. The guitar part is from an old Black Sabbath song and it was nice to recognise it. It's not that special but still nice.

I don't think this album is that bad, it's just the regular full-on sound that allready exists on hundreds of other albums and compilation. But if there weren't for High Paradise I wouldn't have bought this album. I'd give it 5/10.
