Guest The Journey Man Project Posted November 1, 2004 Posted November 1, 2004 yeah t;s really bad but if you read the details it has nothing to do with psy, it is to promote a new PS2 game which a lot of psy artists worked on the soundtracks, Deedrah did the entire sounds for the games as well... anywho good covers stopped with good trance, the only good covers now come with the only good music, mostly chill, ambient and dub... moder psytranceis probably the crappest msuci around, at least club trance was always crap, psytrance just seems to continously drag itself downwards to shitter standards... Elixer Posted November 1, 2004 Posted November 1, 2004 LOL it looks like screen shot from GTA or Need For Speed underground Quote
Tatsu Posted November 1, 2004 Posted November 1, 2004 I may be a bit commercialised or whatever you wanna call that but I like the idea of psy-musik made for a videogame (if it's music that fits my taste ). I like videogames a lot and it would be nice to have one with psysound. Wipeout on the PS1 was very good and the music gave me an extra kick. But the cover is really ugly, that's true, Quote
Guest eleria Posted November 1, 2004 Posted November 1, 2004 What? Who made this? was the first questions that came to mind when I saw it, but if it's true what The Journey Man said, that it isn't actually a cover for a psy album, but advertisement for a game, well, than it's not shocking at all. And I find it a good idea to earn some money producing game soundtracks or film music and so on. Much better than trying to make money out of the trance scene. This way psychedelic trance could be produced out of pure fun, without pressure of getting it sold. Quote

pr0fane Posted November 1, 2004 Posted November 1, 2004 As far as I know, this release isn’t related to Deedrahs work on the game Gran Turismo 4. Quote
Maden Posted November 2, 2004 Posted November 2, 2004 Typical crap game cover for XBOX or something. the psytrance scene become commercial or what ? i hate this kind off standing picture from advertising, as fast and furious spirit, .. and every thing that the tunning bring in car world ... it become superficial ... don't tell me it's a different face of .... it's really not original to my taste, it's easy and not creative ... and more, it's uggly sorry i don't like vulgary pic in general (game music cinema or what ever) showng nude women, powerfull crap car and big gun ... it's not my dream so far. eurk so uggly. i prefer the biodegradable, trold, cover. Maden Posted November 2, 2004 Posted November 2, 2004 I agree ... for example every ultimae record cover are nice for sure ... Quote
Ganeshi Posted November 2, 2004 Posted November 2, 2004 It makes no sence, it has nothing to do with psytrance, I doubt if there is any psytrance artist involved in soundtrack Quote
Maden Posted November 2, 2004 Posted November 2, 2004 , the only good covers now come with the only good music, mostly chill, ambient and dub... ... 200789[/snapback] I agree ... for example every ultimae record cover are nice for sure ... Quote
Maden Posted November 2, 2004 Posted November 2, 2004 VA - Hi-Tech Pleasures have the same silly side in its cover .. in a same case. Quote
Stuff Posted November 2, 2004 Posted November 2, 2004 The first thing that comes to my mind after seeing this is all those commercial Hip-Hop/Rap videos with bikini-girls and expensive cars... useless artists making pointless videos for their stupid fans. And those fast car movies like Fast And The Furios, movies i'v never been so found of anyway. And theres a crappy show on mtv called Pimp my ride.... I don't have to say more, this cover isn't psytrance... this is omething else, people trying to make money on the wrong stuff and come up with a new commerical hook or something. To make it fit the commerical needs Quote
Lemmiwinks Posted November 2, 2004 Posted November 2, 2004 did anyone actually read the description? "Groovy Madmax is one of the oldest Djs in Portugal... ..on the music underground scene and with a highly respected reputation. After techno, house, break beat parties Groovy Madmax started to dj in small psy trance parties and in tuning concentrations and due to the big demand of powerful and hypnotic psychedelic rhythms on the last ones he decided to make the first compilation approaching his two worlds. In order to make it different we decide to make a joint venture with EA games in order to use their fantastic graphics and including a demo of one of the most interesting car racing games 'Need for Speed Underground'. Also the long term friendship with Phonokol (Israel) made possible the use of 10 strongest released tracks from their marvellous catalogue as soundtrack. Style: Psytrance Released: Oct. 2004/44 Tracklist: 1. Genesis MELICIA 2. System error (Psytekk rmx) BEAT HACKERS 3. Micro tunes SIRIUS ISNESS 4. Master peace APOCALIPSE 5. Alien craft DYNAMIC 6. Far away (Bizarre Contact rmx) ULTRA VOICE 7. Dive to dive SESTO SENTO 8. We know YAHEL 9. Spun dry DYNAMO 10. Alien connection DYNAMIC" yes it IS a psytrance compilation!!! Quote
RTP Posted November 2, 2004 Posted November 2, 2004 Oh shit. This cannot be. Where's this world going to? Please, people, let's find another genre name for our music! I wouldn't survive the moment when somebody answers me "Isn't that such stuff like on the ultrapowermeagaboosttuninghardcorepsy compilation?" when I say I listen to psychedelic trance. Quote
Stuff Posted November 3, 2004 Posted November 3, 2004 Agree, the worst thing that can happen is that it starts going like in the late 90's - when all those "Trance"-compilations started to come out. The music itself on these albums was nothing else than a total INSULT to the music i grew up listening to named "trance".. Quote
Hellhammer Posted November 3, 2004 Posted November 3, 2004 How can I take the cover seriously when they can't even spell 'tuning' right? Unless 'tunning' is some strange word that I've never heard of before. Quote
Guest Le Lotus Bleu Posted November 3, 2004 Posted November 3, 2004 Etic - Touh Ups cover is really awful. Quote
Lemmiwinks Posted November 5, 2004 Posted November 5, 2004 they can't even spell 'tuning' right? I think it's one of those "hip" ways of writing a word like "phat" and "stoopid" or "c00l"... Quote
