Just a little bit after their first album as Future Sound Of London, they decided to take more underground turn and go more into ambience by releasing this great album as Amorphous Androgynous.This album really sets the atmosphere for what would become true FSOL ambient sound. Cyber tropic atmosphere and liquid sounds make this album a real journey just before Lifeforms. It is like a continuation to Lifeforms. The production is a little bit rough but the usual FSOL sounds and pads are there making the special world of nature sonicly crafted. I like all the songs on album but my favourite ones are : LIQUID INSECTS, MOUNTAIN GOAT, IN MIND, EPHIDRENA, POD ROOM...9/10

The ambient tracks are great but I didn't enjoy much the dance ones. Anyway nice album.

The 4/4 tracks are so sweet... I wish artists would make "trance techno" like this nowadays.

Now I'm collecting every stuff related to FSOL, so I got this one also.

 

Well, I've liked it.

Of course, listening to it today for the first time, you notice that 13

years have passed since it was released .

But it's good. To my ears it sounds like a Lifeforms less chaotic

and more structured thanks to the support of the 4/4 kick.

 

I would describe the overall mood as moderate dark.

If you want something that "opens your mind" like Lifeforms but

let also keep your foot on the ground. Emh .. it's not really a great

review but this is the effect it has on me.

 

Flaws ... mmh ... maybe production is less elaborate than

Lifefroms and dead Cities, and some patterns of keyboard

sound outdated (well, but 13 years have passed ...)

 

IMO it's a cd that one can appreciate still today.

It's not a trip neither a party bomb, but it works as a

good background for many moments of the day.
