I use Battery 2 as my Drum Machine in SX2, and it is very good (For me!). Anyways, to make a good kick, I always layer up a couple of kicks and then play a lot with compression and reverb, or other effects to make it sound like I want. It is always good to download a couple of kicks, maybe even rip one from a track that you like, and then try to recreate it :)
