Otto Matta
I've sent Duran Duran's "Rio" and "One Thing Leads to Another" by The Fixx. Those should work.
Guest reece
O.T. - it really sux when artists expect labels to spend hours downloading crappy mp3's..... :-)

Guest ATMA
Boom Shankar ! I have just one qustion. Why does all the labels ask for demo Cd ? Now we have internet , so we can easly send and recive traxx with the internet. It's much faster and cheep. I ask this becouse the post cost very much and to much time.. If i will send the Cd from Romania it will take 2-3 weeks to arrive...if it will arrive...And it's very expensive.... Imagine if i will send demos to 5-6 labels world wide.....i can buy a new synth with all this money.... if you wanna hear some of my tunes check: http://moni.hypermart.net/goa
Guest psycle
ATMA...well...if u want to 'copyright' ur music...i suggest you send the CD...atleast then u know that you sent them something 'physical' so that they don't go around and claim that ur track is actually theirs;-)...or so i heard. Guest dam10n
holy sh1t ATMA, how much is postage n romania (or more to the point, how much are synths?) don't think labels would really be too pleased to just get hyperlinks to mp3 tracks on the web... think how many they get already, then think of your demos arriving in a nice little package, cd, biog, etc. goes a long way. its like your CV to employers - judgement made on how it's presented as well as what's in it. Guest bugbread
Ok, question for the pros/knowledgeable people: There are a lot of artists that never put out full albums, just a few tracks on compilations. When submitting to a label like the one above, is it acceptable to just put a single track on a CD and send it? Also, what should be on the CD? It's not a release CD, so I assume it needs completely different info. Should it have a kick-ass psychedelic cover (what about musicians who have no artistic ability)? What kind of info should be on it? Name, address, phone number, email, but what else?
Guest seb
dam10n have a good point here .... if you get a nice package with a cd you know that the artist made an effort to make you hear their music. How the package looks also give you a prejudgement (even though it finally only is about the musicthe cd). The music on the cd can be whatever .... it's better to send out to many than to less demos (the freight cost isn't that much even if you live in Romania). After the music the most important is to give all your contacts so that the label can contact you .... remeber that you always should write your email on the cd record ... somtimes you loose the cover or the letter that you got with the cd and then it's impossible to contact the artist. Guest Seb
It’s always so hard to describe the music that you want for a release. Some labels can say that they want this or that kind but our compilation is more like a blend of good music. I will try to describe the music that we want to release but mostly I tell people that it’s better to send all music and then we can feel what and if they music is ment for this spesific release. We want to release music with a trance atmosphere but this doesent mean that we’re only releasing trance .... it can be house, techno, breakbeat or whatever with a trance feel and atmophere. Also we don’t want the compilation to be stucked in one folder but more reach between funky groovy to harder and more drving ... tribal influences is always nice I hope that you got a qlue about what we want Seb
Otto Matta
Okay, I'll send "Hungry Like the Wolf" instead. Good luck with the project, Seb.
Guest reece
bugbread, one or two tracks on a demo cd is fine,.. music is music! and in answer to your other question, some of the best demo's ive ever got have been a scrawled, illegible mess on the cover, but rockin music inside!!! :-)
