sure it's legal...but you have to pay a fee for it.

In sweden about $150 per month for up to 500 simultaineous listeners.

There is a psynews radio already though.

Check this topic:

It's radio based on the listening of psynews users.

Unfortunally the lastfm server don't have a lot of old-school trance uploaded, so it tends to be more the non trance stuff people listen to they play.

But some nice and varied music nevertheless.

I don't like those streaming radio's... first of all the bitrate isn't high and second mostly the track name isn't right... you hear a track that's playing look at your winamp and the wrong name is mentioned...

I can't stand wrong info about goa <_< , it makes music uselles in a way to me....

Not necessarily. You could have your own server [if you have a relatively fast broadband connection] that would stream your playlist to each listener....

Not if you want to be legal.

At least not if you run it from europe or the states.

If you have the server in russia maybe it's a different issue though.

oh, i see your point then... you want it legal, you gotta pay :P

I don't think it would be a different issue no matter where the server was...

If you have VLC you can open it with Media > Open Network Stream > http://[numbers]. In Windows Media Player use File > Open URL > http://[numbers].

Wow, a psynews radio :o ;)Great idea!

edit: ok, this is what I also wanted to add. If the psynews radio ever get's it's own website (with track titles, links to reviews, etc ...), it would be great to have the option of users adding tracks to the queue. You know, like with the demoscene radios :)
