Guest neurogen Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 In many of the legendary tracks from the day, there are samples from movies, and other sources. What is the most memorable ones for you? That really put the sprinkle on the icing on the cake? The first track I heard in the goa genre, that really stuck to me (with samples) was Mahadeva. Then at the same day I naturally discovered Dancing Galaxy. This was in 1998. I was 15/16 at that time. But besides them there are many great tracks that utilizes samples in a wonderful way.. But many of them (for me) is still Astral Projection. (Tryptomine Dream, Enlightened Evolution, Flying into a star ETC ETC ETC) What about you? What samples do you remember really made you love the track just a little bit more? Im sure its not Astral Projection for everyone Quote

Samples can be oftenly so important for the atmosphere and the storytelling. Sometimes is nice to hear tribal or mystical songs for sample except from sci-fi movies which are the most relevant. Also astronaut or pilot communications. It's a great subject, i had this in mind but forgot it... http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=76z7-IDEmjs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vpvn79Jo_U0 Quote

johnb820 Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 Astral Projection - Flying Into a Star "I am 1 million kilometers from the star's corona. I am actually flying into a star! This is incredible..." Every time I listen to that song, I have to say that sample out loud because it makes me laugh so hard and knowing which episode of Star Trek: TNG it comes from makes it even funnier. Filteria - In the Heaven's Eye "The scene from up here, everything seems different. It squashes a man's ego. Time bends, space is... boundless." Quote
