dmtree
Hall of BLAME this year: Penta - Funraiser VA - Nowhereland ... need i say more 383487[/snapback] I disagree.. For me Penta's album is by far the best of the year. Derango a distant second. Nystagmus or Sensient probably third. a more complete top 10 coming at the end of December. Meanwhile anxiously waiting for v/a Trauma Trance in the mail....
Sawfly
Derango - Tumult Sensient - Pressure Optimal Boldly Audio comp. Hocus Peakus comp. edit: Oh, I totally forgot Khetzal - Corolle
Tox
For now I'd like to mention: Gaudium - Nordic Nature Jaïa - Fiction Antix - TCD & ofcourse I'm looking forward to getting the new Element (AgAin, I know) & Ticon-cd's TONIGHT V/A: Tantra Trance - especially the chill-cd V/A: Avalanche of sound: vol4 V/A: Spiral Trax In 2005 I really enjoyed V/A Prooved vol2 & Bluetech 2xCD too, but that's from late last year... Most underestimated cd of 2005: InterPhaze : Move to the Groove on ZMA Apparently I spend a lot this year on getting some older cd's I wanted to have original for a long time: V/A's:Widescreen, Cosmophilia 2, Alien Airport, Ease Division Timetech-Astral Projection-Vibrasphere-Ooze... Jon Cocco
This thread has been too jacked by comments not concerning the point of it's topic -- because it was posted too early. We need a fresh thread closer towards the end of the year. That's when the speculation is over because the albums have pretty much all came out. I usually make one of these Top 10 Best/Top Albums of "X" Year threads each year in the GENERAL FORUMS around November or December. It's NO race and I don't care if anyone beats me to it or not. This year I figured I'd wait for December. The point is to stay on point of the topic so the thread isn't misguided or misdirected. Right now it's STILL too early. I JUST got Khtezel and need time to listen to that several times... An unquestionable favorite in the downtempo genre of 2005 is: Subculture - Phutureprimitive. My favorite comp of 2005 is: Apsara. So far 2005 has NOT been a good year in my opinion, especially when compared to last year.

RRRR... most of them are even very out of pace.

OMFG... it was one of the most amazing experiences ever. That music is PERFECT.

"Phutureprimitive - Sub Conscious." Wow...what an album! I'm under the impression it came out earlier this year. That's when I first saw it available on psyshop before it later became unavailable, in April 2005. See right here. It wasn't re-released. http://www.psyshop.com/shop/CDs/wav/wav1cd001.html

So far the best: Ishvara - Magik Square of the Sun Tripswitch - Corcuit Breaker Waterjuice - Melbaphonics VA - Left Coast Liquid Vol. 1 VA - Earth Octave Lounge Vol. 2 VA - Dissolving Clouds worthy of a mention: VA - Antenna Vol. 1, VA - Quality Relaxation Gaudi and Testa's album Continuum might very well turn out to be a favourite as well, but it might need a lot of listening and I only have for about a month. Yes. That's correct. "Phutureprimitive - Sub Conscious." Wow...what an album! I'm under the impression it came out earlier this year. Guest
yeah I just got down the new Solar Fields, it's very sweet! also, Gaudi + Testa has a new downtempo CD out. I've just heard samples from it, and it sounds very promising. I've listened briefly to the new Kaya, it sounds good too. Syra, it's cool to see you like Porcupine Tree. I think Deadwing is far from their best though. have you heard 'Voyage 34'? excellent trip music!
psyspectrum
Best downtempo this year was -Entheogenic - Dialogue of the Speakers- .
