Anoebis
The 2005 cds that were stuck very often in my oven... euh, cd player lately Solar Fields - Extended Solar Fields - Leaving Home Derango - Tumult Various - Baldly Audio Nystagmus - The Immaculate Perception The Muses Rapt - You Procs - Stuck In The Oven With Me (too early to say if it will end up in my top 10) Various - Albedo Mandalavandalz - Poisonmachine Khetzal - Corolle (altough I released it, I just keep listening to it, I love it!) Conclusion: VERY GOOD AMBIENT YEAR! Except of that not so many memorable releases, but some very nice ones... I'm curious what the future will bring! furthur
I am amazed at how underrated Gaudi and Testa's album is. It is extremely well-made Definitely one of the year's best, and probably the best artist album for me so far this year. (although do not have the new bluetech yet)

Guest Le Lotus Bleu
2005 is close to its end, my view: Raise of released, decrease of quality, overdose of full on with zero creativity, the hype for darkpsy seems to be more calm now, progressive is stagnant. Maybe, i'm not sure, 2005 have seen the emergence of more numerous ambient-chill out releases (albums & compilations), a little come-back of goa influenced productions. For me, best released from 2005 are: Mandalavandalz - Poisonmachine (6d soundz) Squaremeat - Astronomical Coffee Break (Exogenic) Ocelot - Vector Selector (Dropout) Ganja Beats - Peace & Tranquility (Organic) Chamar - Chamaring vol1 (Tod Aquarium) Lish - Free Fall (Com.pact) Optokoppler - Replugged (Usta) Karmageddon mixed by Goa Gil (Avatar) Chilling Matenda - Mediteran (Global PhoneHead) Artifakt - Artifakts II (Timecode) Entheogenic - Dialogue of the Speakers (Chillcode) SCI Forest - Fetish Box (6d soundz) V/A Dirty South (Acidance) Tri-Force - Entrance To Reality (Elf Music)
slyman604
"The best years were 1995 - 1998. Back then very few artists were imitating eachother, everyone was doing their own thing and doing it with verve, passion and innovation. Alas, those days are over, never to be repeated." well i would say Ghreg On Earth - Sigil Weaver fits the bill of passion, innovation and doing your own thing. Thats completely it though, only album i bought this year. Everything else i downloaded and deleted. Dark psy releases sound no different than free tracks on isratrance, full-on...well i was bored with that 2 years ago.

I pretty much agree with Le Lotus's overview of 2005...surely not a year full of amazing mind blowing releases, but yet a year in which I found plenty of releases that I was into... -crappy year for full on -great year for chillout -yup stagnant year for progressive -decent year for psychedelic (nighttime and morning)
zaib
my vote goes to ghreg on earth as well, and i doubt any other release could make change my mind

Dragonflier
No psy releases really stood out this year for me. Ticon was pretty good, but they're not making psy anymore, more like progressive house. Best albums are probably: The Orb - Okie Dokie It's The Orb On Kompakt The Black Dog - Silenced Monolake - Polygon_Cities I may have left something out though.
