Manuser
I ask this cause i am listening to Necton - From here to yer ear (VA - Progression (Plusquam)), and that's one of the best tracks i heard from Necton, dark and tribal, and always that loud kickline which makes me smile...what's ur opinion about Necton? and about this track i am talking about if you heard it...Swamppeople track does it for me too! ukiro
I really like Necton, it's very nice. 231225[/snapback] I've heard them live twice, couldn't stand it either time, had to leave. Bores me to death. Admittedly, I just have two singles from them (the Acid Casualties ones) but judging by those they're very far from pleasing my ears. To each his own ofcourse, this is just my opinion...

Guest Le Lotus Bleu
Bethoveen is the name of one of their track i think. i like Necton , got their second album 'Children of the noizy village'(Plusquam), i like nearly all the tracks on it except the one with Porno in the title (maybe Porno Poltergeist need to check). I also possess Goldflake on a Planet Goa compilation & like it too very much. I believe that Necton is the kind of band that don't got a big numerous support due to their hybrid style that is able not to fit with proggy lowers coz of their too heavy kick & fat bassline & also with fulloners or oldschoool lovers due to the discret or minimal harmony-melody. That's a pity. Manuser , you should try listening to Martin Stäff solo project Slugger too, i remember of the nice Bomberclaad on Iressistible Meltdown 1. It's the same way as the dubby tunes of Necton in C.o.t.n.v but without the fat kick.

Basilisk
I never did find a track by them that I liked... however I could recognize that they weren't taking a stupid approach to music - they were just doing it in a way I don't have an appreciation for, that's all... Hels
Wow people expressing their opinions without force on Psynews? I'm proud of you guys!!! Necton is okay...sometimes good. sometimes boring.
dmtree
I still have his first album on vinyl. Remember playing it out a lot - really good stuff for getting the party going - that 'early peaking' experience.

I think you're right though le lotus bleu, it's kind of in-between, It doesn't nestle anywhere into any particular style of psytrance, which isn't a bad thing, but it means less people are likely to go for it. Tox
I really like most Necton tracks I know. Too bad they are mostly linked to "Beverly hills Cop"... It works, but it still is a psy-song based on a Hollywood-blockbuster Tracks like Slowmotion are way better (& more original ofcourse) As for their typical sound, it often involves a very bouncy kick (like From here 2 yr Ear) & that's enough to get my ass shaking
