Guest fg
No Are You Shpongled is 100000000000000000000 x better.
Guest Lifeform
yes...! now a shpongle debate... : ) Both are masterpeices of sound. If i wanna feel crazy i'll listen to Are you shpongle... And if i'm feeling like just chillin out.. I'll listen to TOTI. Overall though, if i had to pick one... Are You Spongled? !!
Guest Gusto
Sorry people, I like Tales of the inexpressible better... :-p
Guest Slidingtrancer
Completely different cd's, no use in comparing those two. AYS is more psychedelic-orientated TOTI is more worldmusic-orientated. I think they both set an awful high standard for producers to come... The sound manipulation is much better than anything Simon has ever done and he was already outstanding. I sometimes wonder what the next step will be for him...
Strumpling
It depends on what I'm looking for. If i'm really feeling spaced-out and am looking for a somewhat darker trip out to space, I'll go for Are You Shpongled? Tales of the Inexpressible, however, leaves me feeling like a FCCKIN CHAMPION after I listen to it - I listen to that to get pumped-up for something, as opposed to just spacing out :-D -=- Matt/Strumpling -=- Tales leaves me with the best taste in my mouth. Strumpling
althought I enjoy TOTI better overall, I'll admit that ...and day turns to night is the best composition I've ever heard. -=- Matt/Strumpling -=- it tops everything.
Guest Mindbender
TOTI is my favourite. It's all a continuous climax for me, even the fairly silent parts. AYS on the other hand has some individual parts that annoy me. Other than that, they are equally good, but wonderfully different. Guest ZaRAMaTU
Strumpling - I just want say that I was of the same opinion as you until I heard Klaus Schulze's "Crystal Lake". And now I've also heard "Schwanensee Part 1". Sorry, but "...and the day turned to night" is well...inferior to those, it will sound almost FLAT when you've heard those two Schulze compositions. But I'm not that fond of TOTI, actually. Sorry, but I can't stand "My head feels like a frizbee". It was fun the first few times, but now it only annoys me. It just doesn't fit into the CD IMO. I think without TOTI could have been more of a trip than it is now.
Guest Dr Hoffman
it´s very hard to deside, they both got thiere uniqe sounds. like having to kids, and you have to say witch of your kids is the best. but if i really have to pick one i will go for are you shpongled. Guest Flying Kundalini
both r 10/10 AYS is more dark/trippy TOTI is more uplifting
Guest didge
AYS 1 million times better - behind closed eyelids my most listened to track ever. But TOTI is still awesome - and yes my head feels like a frisbee doesn't fit in at all!
Guest Chong
I never liked TOTI - as said above, no-where near the realms of AYS.
Guest bugbread
TOTI by a country mile. AYS is great, but there's a lot of great ambient, so it doesn't stand out as much. TOTI is like nothing I've heard before, and makes me dance holes in my shoes. And I love My Head Feels Like A Frisbee! So much energy! soem aeld
ZaRAMaTU , I fully agree with you! I'm not too fond of TOTI! and after all your recommendations I downloaded Crystal Lake and that other track. WOW!! Awesome! Been playing them non-stop! so, to answer the Topic Q. Are you shpongle? is WAY WAY WAY better! (for me.. remember, this is only MY opinion)
Guest Hale
TOTI is better on my oppinion, sooo positive and energetic. AYS is also a masterpeace. The best CD for relaxing and meditating. I guess it's hard for me comparing them, since they are different - Simon and Raja are the only comparison betwen them, IMO.
Strumpling
My Head Feels Like A Frisbee is awesome, IMO. I love what goes on with that piano in that track, and I love those whipping and "high-tension" sounds that play an entirely different "track within a track" -=- Matt/Strumpling -=-
