chiragkotak
hi.. does anyone have any tips on using phasers while making psy trance? can phasers and filter sweeps be used at the same time?/ what vst phasers can i get for free that are accurate...?that give more control on depth,sweep.... i am currently using fruity phaser...it is not very clear to me how to be accurate using this... what i mean is that if i want the phasor to move up and then down for exactly 8 bars and then repeat it each time the same way... the knobs are caliberater in hertz... what does this mean??? they are not even rounded off...as in 0.238403hz and frequencies like that...they are not rounded off like 2 hz 4hz...... how does frequency correspond to number of bars... like a delay unit that has two steps or 3 steps or 8 steps.... also.. apart from creative reasons...is it better to use phasers as inserts of sends?? thanks
grimoire
Hz is a measure for frequency. 1 Hz is one wave per second (from 'zero' up to max, down to min and back to zero again; a sine wave). So it all depends on how many bpm your song is. Lets say, hypotheticaly, that your track is 120 bpm (easy as an example). That's 2 beats per second. So 8 bars of 4 beats is 32 beats so that's 16 seconds. You want 1 sine wave in 16 seconds so the frequency is 1/16th Hz = 0.0625 Hz I hope I explayned it well
chiragkotak
hi.. ya thats a good explanation... so each time u wanna use a phaser accurately u gotta make these calculations?? i suppose these values are caliberated at preset amounts on a phaser... for example : 1/16th Hz = 0.0625 Hz 0.0625 is not a complete cycle... so it means that in 0ne second 0.0625 of th full cycle completes and there would be 16 such parts over the whole sine wave cycle.. also the fruity phaser seems to be caliberated a few 0.0 something hz away from 0.0625 hz for one cycle over 16 seconds(32 beats) at 120 bpm... its 0.063275... are there some good vst phasers to download ? so using the same system i can have 4 cycles or 8 or 16 cycles over 32 beats ie: 4/16 hz or 8/16 hz... at 120 bpm.. also i suppose that the same methord is used for flangers as well.. thanks..
