to the question,, what is morning trance for you? well i guess whatever will suit the mood of the party at the time... as an example, the wizzy album cyclotron... the last three tracks in my opinion could be used as morning tunes... while the first couple of ones will not.. so i guess if its dark and scratchy, then it won't fit as morning trance.... hux flux - sniksnack is one of my fav morning tunes.. so that might shed some light...

and for mijis, africa in trance is available at psyshop...

here's what i think is morning. first of all, it shouldn't be "scary", like full on stuff (eg: alien project, talamasca), it should have less voice samples and a flatter bass. the main focus should be on those spacey twisted sounds, which in the morning feel like particles floating around your head. and lots of breakdowns, or at least lots of parts with only the beats and spacey sounds.

am i making sense here?

yup, huxflux's snickesnack is definitely morning. another great one is infected's "psycho", man what a start that track has.

I'd say Alien Project's "Midnight Sun" (preferably the GMS rmx) is the very definition of morning music with enough energy to light a middle sized city and a happy melody, nothing dark and complicated.

I don't think any one group can be said not to make morning tracks... for eg.. talamasca has a lot of scary tracks, but he also makes some morning killers such as musica divonorum, time simulation and the old school..

same applies for alien project, where tracks like dna are not morning, but midnight sun and genetic eyes are morning stompers.....

my best description for morning would be more melodious and less scary.. i guess uplifting would be another adjective we could use.... but honestly this is something that is not articulated so well in words, but rather through the ear...

For me mornig trance just need to keep you dancing, nees phat arse beats and inimal effects and sound.

I think:

Ticon - Rewind

Son Kite - Perspectives Of...

Re:Evolution III - Disc 2

M.O.S - Meter

stuff along these lines, maybe some of the new Dealt and X0Dream. This would be outdoors on a stinkinh hot summer day.

But on the melodic ide:

All Astral Projection.

All Electric Univers

Goahead 1-10

Tantrance 1-7

Distance To Goa 1-5.

and so many more old skool soundz!
