Ormion
Ok, anybody knows who gave the term ''Psychedelic'' to our music? Was it the Psychedelic Vibes series? What about Full On? Progressive? And of course Goa. I remember one of the first comps ever by Dragonfly was named Voyage 2 Trance (1993), so I guess that the term Goa Trance was after 1993. Anybody knows? Cinos
Obviously it was given because the music IS psychedelic. Not necessarily by any CD or comp. Full On describes the music as well, it's just what people happened to start calling it, I think.

Of course it was named cause it's psychedelic but how this term become so popular? Who or which was the first? As for Goa. Maybe from Goa Gil. GG had this nick from 70' while he was playing music with his guitar in Goa. He was one of the first Goa Trance Djs and the music itself started in Goa (not 100% true though) Anout Full On I guess from The Full On series where the music was more full-onish than the usual Goa. Just guessing of course
Cinos
I'd guess it was nobody special, just the same word spreading mouth-to-mouth. And Goa probably just comes from the land that pretty much invented it: Goa.
ukiro
here is an early (1992) release linking trance music with Goa. I'm sure there are examples from 1991 as well.

The general term used in Goa in the early 90's for the music played seems to have been "Trance Dance". Spindrift could maybe confirm that. The very expression "Goa Trance" was probably coined by some UK music reporters around 1994. In one of the first Goa compilation (Concept in Dance 1, 1994), you can find a hybrid expression : Goa Trance Dance. So, we're halfway between Trance Dance and Goa Trance I'd say. J.
