Ale Posted April 10, 2005 Share Posted April 10, 2005 listen, its becoming too comerciall, this kind of music should be for the soul. each track used to sound different, you could listen to a dj set and each track would make diffrence. do you also feel that today most of full on sets sounds like it is one long and boring track? Some part of the full is crap made in 2 weeks to sell more and more There is a lot of Israeli full on that sounds the same, but come on – that’s also the case with dark psy (actually I think it’s even more the case with dark psy, but that’s just my opinion and a matter of taste). It lose that first euphoria, that joy of life and emotions... I guess that is destiny, but there is some light moments that give me second toth... Talpa, Filteria, Son Kite ( Colors ) and we still are waiting for Pleiadins and some wellknown names realises... There is plenty of good music out there, but you have to hunt it. And it's not easy to shoot err... CATCH good music. It hides, deep in the pitchblack shades of commercialism. I really think it's sad ! When i think about this i turn on my stereo and listen to musics such as Dancing with Kadafi that makes me remember the good times of Psy Trance! I decided since december to go only on festivals because on festivals there are no commercial music, at least here in Brazil or there are few djs that play commercial ones because they know that people who go to festivals such as Trancendence want to remember the good times of psy trance and don't want to listen crap songs made by brand new bands from israel that make a music in a day only to sell. You look back on Goa trance and it all seems so golden but what you forget is the countless horrible releases that no one bothers to remember any more. There is music for everybody nowadays. This full on hype doesnt even affect me at all, simply because i dont pay attention on it. Because parties are an investment, they are not intending to put djs to play songs that only few freaks worship. For me there are two kinds of music: good and crappy. Choose yours... sometimes try to forget about these disapointing facts, otherwise you won't enjoy any party here in the brazilian mainstream if you just keep complaining that djs are playing alter ego and round&round like musics... the core of the party's public, the one who makes the promoters richer, like this kind of music... let's respect investors and know how to fit in a party. But I ask you to widen your horizons to other forms of music than psytrance. There are infinite amounts of good music out there, even some of the commercial music is good, believe it or not. Try different styles of music: ambient, progressive rock, heavy metal, IDM, drum'n'bass, electronica, jazz, classical, etc. Even some "commercial" rock/pop is worth trying. psyant Posted April 14, 2005 Share Posted April 14, 2005 i perfectly agree with fosku.hey ALE u can even turn to classical music-if u havent already.i tell u it will certainly fin some strong emotions in it. and about the boring and repetitive stuff:i think that in all types of music u have a few who are top notch,very subtle,versatile and performant.then comes the big mass of rather "good" ones which can be more or less good.and then at the tail,comes the ones that dont have anything to offer. therefore-i was about to write...NOBODY CAN FIND THE YETI IN NATURE/U HAVE TO GO IN TRANCE AND THEN U CAN FIND THE YETI EASILY.hehehe.silly me!-we have to choose.and i think we have plenty of options.maybe too much.it's your call if u choose the bad stuff. or u can turn back tu tangerine dream,kraftwerk and other briliant pioneers of the golden ages.
