Guest dam10n
Holy crapping crap --- HOW good??!? Dunno if anyone else has heard this but I was just blown away... wicked melodies, wicked kicks, best production all year and just totally amazing groovy sh1t... really wicked. PLUs it doesn't have that predictable downtempo tune at the end, it has one SMACK IN THE MIDDLE so you get a peak, a drop, then a peak at the end of the album (which is a much nicer way of looking at it IMO.) Dunno if anyone else has heard it - and what do you think - it could be the over-strong spl1ff that fucked me up last night but I think we could be looking at album of the year here... Guest Mescalinium
I personally can't wait. So what if the title track was dissappointing... if it's at all like their live act back in March, I'll be in for a delicious treat
Guest Elysium Project
This is my reaction to the CD I have not reviewed every single track since I think that's to radical but I have done a overall review: First I will add the points for each track (Highest 10) 1. Datalink = 8 2. Unlimited =7 3. Neighbour Of The Beast=7 4. Marauder=7 5. Future Uncertain=6 6. High Density=7 7. Normalised=7 8. Compact Living=8 9. Hund=7 10. Drop=8 Album overall = 7 Eventhough Logic Bomb once again release a very well high sound quality produced album I must say that I am quite dissapointed. Most of the tracks lack soul and are in my opinion another 'copy' of something we allready have listened to many times before. Not even the superb sound quality can make this better. They have found a formular and stick to it like so many other artists do. Where's the experimentation and innovation? Again I am sure this album will do well on the commercialised dancefloor but I would have liked to see much more nerve in the tracks. It reminds me a bit too much of some of the old Total Eclipse music blended together with some Green Nuns squeeky lines....Guys you can do it much much better! Sorry to piss some of you guys and girls off...but it's just my opinion seen from a taste perspective.
Guest dam10n
Good words EP - but I was very pleasantly surprised with this, it's more mature and sensitive than their earlier stuff and while it's maybe not the full twist as far as innovation and pushing the envelope of sanity apart etc., for those times when you want strong melody, strong kick, strong production and nice spirit that's where it comes in. I'll whirl it again with a less caned, more objective ear.... smoked way too much last night
Guest Elysium Project
My overall problem with the album is this: The melody lines sound in my ears like something from early 1997 and the melody line sounds they use are very old sounds used too many times. Yes the soundquality is superb and the kicks and beats are ok. But I do think they could have done much better trying to create better melodylines and come up with a more unique expression. The tracks are in my ears a mixture of "too old" old-school sounds blended with something that I frankly think is a formular that many bands theses days stick too much with. A kick, a deep sub bass that goes in between the kick in a 4/4 sync, a 909 hihat, some flashy effects and some echoed voices. My opinion though :-)
Guest JanUa
can't wait to hear it and make an opinion of my own :-)
Basilisk
i got the 12" vinyl in the mail yesterday (bought without hearing first) and i'm completely disappointed. i gotta stop doing that.. i literally put the track unlimited on, listened, and when it was nearly done i was still thinking it was the intro. Guest Inu
If the melodies sound like early 1997 then it's my kinda music. The tracks might be "formulaic", but I actually don't care that much about structure and composition; just sounds, colors and textures...
