Basilisk
What do you think of the new Joujouka?
Guest Rumz
Weelllll I heard the track by joujouka on the "Rez" soundtrack, I liked it but, I didnt reallyu think it was psy-trance, more like "bring on more pain and suffering and then i shall laugh at your misfortune whilst tapping my feet to this banging acid techno-trance" RumZ

Guest bugbread
Well, I dunno about the use of the track on the Rez album, but within the game the progression absolutely rocks!! I think perhaps the track is better suited to the game than as a musical track in general. Actually, the only track I liked in Rez better than Joujouka was the Adam Freeland one, but, once again, I've only heard it in the game, not in it's "pure" track format. But as for the Joujouka album: well, Tsuyoshi has long since given up the ghost. Got pied in South Africa for playing hard house, plays house at every event he attends in Japan (frickin' awful, but he's invited to every event because of that whole annoying "respect a pioneer regardless of his current work" thing). He's easily the worst Japanese "psy" DJ there is now, but because everyone's so concerned with "respecting pioneers", he gets invited everywhere. Joujouka died when Ubar Tmar left

Guest Jikkenteki
Ther last few times I saw Tsuyoshi in Japan he was spinning in the breaks/funky techno vein. He doesn't do trance anymore, but I rather like the stuff he spins now regardless. The new Joujouka is very different from the last one. A fair amount of live insturments, vocals and what not. For some reason it vaguely reminds me of the Beatles during their experiemental drug days for some reason, although I can't really put a finger on why (not that it is as good os the Beatles were or anything of course, it just brings that kind of stuff to mind in some warped way). I like the album, but be warned it is not trance in any why shape or form and its also very different from the last Joujouka album.
