Guest cyber
Has anyone heard Africa In Trance comp. and Silicon Attic-Arecibo Calling single (Blue Room). I'm thinking of buying them but I'm not sure what they sound like..
Järsimähäiriö
I have the AIT-comp and dude, I can honestly suggest you to get it as soon as humanly possible. The style varies from on-your-face psychedelic mayhem to more morning-oriented stuff, but it's a hard album from start to end. My personal favourite is Rabdom L - What a Lag, check it out, you might find that getting the album is well-justified just because of that one awesome tune... Guest cyber
thanks...one more question...does it mean that this has melodies in adition of being psychedelic? I'm really not into Progressive/repetative/minimal stuff released nowdays so I wanna avoid something that fits this description.
Guest reece
the Africa in Trance comp. is very melodic cyber! alot of the tracks are quite raw and underproduced, but killer stuff nonetheless!!! hopefully hear more from the south-african crew in the future. :-)
Guest Rabdom L
Järsimähäiriö - ahoy Cyber check out this compilation - it is well worth it as this is one of the first South African releases and it features trax from a bunch of talented young musicians that you will hear alot of in the next couple of years. Also while I'm on the subject - Look out for a CD called Encryption from Timecode Records. The Africa in Trance CD features 6 Timecode trax, but released on another label - We have now started our own label - Timecode Records - and Encryption is our first release of many - in fact over the weekend we had our launch party in Cape Town and it thumped - the people loved it - go to www.kwik-kut.co.za - you can see reviews and @!#$. Also check out www.timecode.co.za - that is our site. Reece - surely you aren't being serious about the very melodic statement are you? Guest opul
only gave it one listen so far, didn't overly impress me... full-on for sure, but IMO not a single outstanding track on it, more or less a bunch of slightly above average fillers. even so it has been a while since I listened to it, I think it is somewhere around the style of neuromotor etc, which is not really my favorite either. But it is definitely far from minimal/progressive style, if that is all you care about.
