Guest Firestorm
This week I bought "Silicon Civilisation" and the "Best Of..." albums on vinyl at a second-hand store here in Ghent (4 euro a piece!). Clearly shows the transition from the Front 242 industrial sound to 'primitive' Goa.... Great stuff, I always thought "Twisted" was the first real Goa album but Kode IV really started it I think. Some tracks resemble the Hallucinogen "LSD" sound, amazing, I thought the "LSD" track came out of nowhere but now I'm pretty sure Simon P. listened very carefully to "Silicon Civilisation" :-) Any opinions?? Guest goa tacks
I become friend with Peter (Kode IV) while I was in San Fransisco. I asked about his music making hitory. He told me that "Silicon Civilisation"(released in 1992 I think) was the first album which he collaborate with Goa Gil. (I think US release is doble CDs, and other CD is remixed by Goa Gil.) I only have the regular CD, so I have not listen to Goa mix version. He tole me that after he make music with Goa Gil, he started making more goa sounds than industorial. So I guess here is my comment for that.
Guest Inu
gt, you're thinking of "Insane", which had some goa remixes packed in the CD in 1992. Silicon Civ. came later, in `94. First goa albums? Check Juno Reactor, Eat Static, Third Eye...
