Guest goahead
hi there! Can anyone recommend really cool light and funky stuff, anything like the recent tracks from Shakta and Cosmosis... you know, funky and positive, not hard or dark like Etnica... Guest Dr. Krelm
See if you can get ahold of the new 12" by Minilogue called "Deep Motions" on the Sog label. It is a side project of Son Kite and is amazing funky & uplifting in an intense tribal way...I can see it being a killer morning track. Unfuckingbelievable. Guest Mahoney
I think you should wait for the Necton album ("Children of the Noizy Village"), think it will be totally groooovy and funky, atleast if it sounds like their rescent live I heard. really good

Guest sam i am
Howdy Goahead, The new, self-titled, debut album from Loopus in Fabula on Demon Tea Recordings is pure psy-funk. Not exactly in the Shakta/Cosmosis style of things, but in a way that is fresher and funkier. Extremely tight drum programming and sliding, funky-arse baselines combine to make you twist, shout & groove practically the whole way through the album. It beautifully combines elements of psytrance, jazz & funk and trust me, the results are supreme. You know the sort of music that makes you want to dance in public? That's this. When I first got it, I couldn't help but have a jiggle as I was waiting for a train at the station - a little embarrasing, but I couldn't help myself ;-) It does have it's slightly darker moments, but on the whole this is an album full of smiley grooves, complete with the occasional brass section and slabs of psychedelic mayhem. In case you can't tell, I'm really recommending you give it a try and if you like it, check out an album called "Forest Flavours" by Haltya (on Exogenic). It is a little weirder perhaps, but of a similar style, which I find extremely fat and funky :-) Anywayz, that's enough from me. I'd recommend some straighter trance for ya, but it's all boring next to Loopus IMHO. All the best Sam
