Basilisk
you heard me... what happened to great goa / breakbeat crossover material from groups like germinating seeds of doda, snake thing, joujouka, metal spark, and digitalis? i've heard a few.. but it doesn't seem like any new artist is really carrying the torch, so to speak. eraser & yojalka are definatly in fine form however... ghost train is a fantastic new example of a song that is half breaks and half goa trance. the new stuff that is breaky seems to stray too far to one side or the other... i liked those songs that had a wicked bit of balance to it, throwing the beat patterns around like jumbled monkey heads in a barrel rolling down a volcano shooting fluorescent lava nodules out of its steaming toxic caldera. Guest skeletor
try synchro's last album "Electrik".... funky broken danceable trance.... or Jupiter 8000 for a more techno breaks edge. Dunno if u know about double dragon but they do the breakbeat/psytrance thing well also. but i agree the drive for breaks has gone, and a listeners desire for them to come back in an ultra modern form has appeared. btw i havent heard the "new" joujouka so.... Guest lumpi
Well, for breakbeat psy I really recommend you the Acidrockers album "Mind Set", especially the track "Inside". Apart from that: - Biot - Somatronic - some tracks on Darshan's "Spectra"- album At the moment nothing else comes to my mind. I'll check it out when I'm back home.
