qa2pir Posted June 6, 2005 Share Posted June 6, 2005 I don't really understand. If you make a song in a scale, you can use any note in the scale anytime you want. but beware of chords aswell. Sure it's good to knwo the different keys and what tones that fit together (harmonies) but generally I just play around until I find something i like. It's as simple as that and in my opinion way more creative than sticking to theories, scales and those boxed in rules (from classical music in general) that i experienced do not mix very well with creativity.
