Guest Psychedelic AllabertA
I was just wondering... maybe Psy Trancers have something in common with other music genres they listen to except Psytrance! Of course, Psytrance is my very favourite and most important music style in which I find my way of life and see my future, but besides that I also listen to Hardcore, Gabber and Speedcore stuff (it's fucking great music, maybe with most "personality" among all music genres, and I just adore to freak out with my fellow gabbers on the smoke-filled dancefloor with strobo lighting Then, i like to listen to some Hard Techno. But, regarding Techno, unfortunately only like 10% of it suits me... Yesterday I went to hear Sven Vaeth and it was... umm.. boring. Same thing with Richie Hawtin and other similar "big DJ superstars"... I like it really futuristic, space tekknology sounding and hard but when I hear tracks like Rippin' and Dippin', Diabla or Man Alive it makes me wanna go home and sleep... But every, say, 10th time I visit a techno party, there's a DJ which leaves an impression. For now those are Marco Bailey, T-Quest, Dave Tarrida and maybe DJ Rush (although he isn't great all the time). I like bands such as Chemical Brothers, Underworld and Prodigy. And now for the non-electronic part... I don't listen to this stuff often anymore but I hold them in greatest respect. I like Iron Maiden and Rammstein, and on the other side Queen and U2 because they make some real quality music. And that's about it. And about the dislikes... I don't like House music, especially gayish Deep Sexy Soulful Jazzy House with vocals... I mean, I have this 5-hour recording of a house party and I find 2 tracks good. And the rest is, mildly spoken, boring... And IMO house isn't a part of the "rave" music at all, it has it's roots in Disco, and techno & trance are the new and futuristic music styles. But, I once had a nice experience on a house floor... I was on a 2-day open air festival, first day I was on the techno floor and I got really tired and beaten up next day, and so I spent a few hours on the house floor on the second night, there was Gideon Jackson playing a little harder pumping Tech-House and I've really gotten into it and danced all the time and it was good... Then, some girl approached me and said she was looking at me all the time and that I had incredibly sexy ass-movement!!! I wonder why nobody tells me that on trance parties... )) But, that's about it regarding my positive house experience. I most certainly won't go to a house party again soon. And how about you? Guest Kristian
Actually, I for the first time in 10 years find the todays psytrance pretty boring and much too overrated. I'm slowly abbandoning the whole trance scene just as the scene abbandonded the old style much to early. Fortunately I can still go back to my roots of synthmusic and get good old chills from new artists popping up in that scene: Assemblage 23 (www.synthetic.org/a23), Icon of coil (http://www.iconofcoil.com), Hocico (http://www.hocico.net), Echo Image (http://www.echoimage.com) just to mention a few of them. Synthmusic is much taking influences from the old trancesound nowadays, beautiful and fast, just as I like it!
Guest Andreas of Amygdala
Erasure (the source of my entire musical consciusness - think what you want, but they rock!) Pat Metheny - if there is such a thing as psychedelic-yet-incredibly-close-to-the-very-nature-of-humanity - jazz - this is it ! Crash Test Dummies have some intruiging lyrics on their newer albums, so that's a kick as well...

Guest Ferox
Psychedelic AllabertA> I listen to the same genres you do.. I'm from Holland where hardcore/gabba was very big. I started listening to psytrance about 2 or 3 years ago and I've been to quite some parties already.. i'm somehow addicted to the sound now but I'm still busy with hardcore too. As you might already know... i'm a hardcore producer myself. But if I would have to choose I would choose for psytrance because the scene is so much nicer then hardcore is nowadays. - next to hardcore and psytrance I also listen to: prodigy, moby, heavy metal, ambient, some terror, some techno, raggae, chemical brothers, etc.. plur

Guest opul
nothing else at all really, I don't think anything but psy (including ambient and chill-out though) made it into my cd player/turntables/computer in the past 2.5 years and I do not have the urge to listen to anything else either, because no other music does anything for me. And I usually react quite allergic to other music as well
