seraph
For smooth states of trance I prefer slower rhythms ( 120 - 125 ). The best trance rhythm for hypnotic states of mind. For real, energetic states I also prefer slower faster rhythms ( 130 - 135 ) The only time I do like very fast one is when I am in the club, dancing like a madman ( 140 - 145 )
Cybernetika
Uhm.. I usually like the speedy stuff (around 150 BPM) Sometimes I'm in the mood for proggy things at around 130 BPM
Cinos
140 isn't very fast, and it coincidentally is what I prefer.
dmtree
144 probably 80% of the time. If I play peak time and everybody is real high, maybe 147. 150 of real psychedelic stuff I like to listen to when I'm flying.. 140 for an early night or late morning set. khogg
135 to low 140's at home and in the car 145 tops and only when I want to listen to something really energetic 140 to 145 is good for clubs

Basilisk
I notice that with some trance, I simply don't sense the BPM at all... MWNN's Teleport is 136 for example? BPM became so standardized... it became linear. File everything into the appropriate category based on speed... meh, that's not interesting. Juno's up at 150 and Etnica drop to 130. Why settle on any particular speed? Fast and slow are both good, and not just for music...
kYper
Anywhere from 140-150...just depends on my mood.
RTP
I realized I prefer it around 130 BPM. Such stuff is great for running and it has a steady and gentle progression that goes on and on yet doesn't make me tired or exhausted too soon. Seriously, mostly when I had a bad run it was just the wrong music I had put on. Progressive stuff is great for that purpose. Sometimes slower, sometimes faster, but always at about 130 ... that's perfect. At parties I like a higher BPM though. But BPM is not all that matters
NT
340 (Quindoor - Full Energy Flash) ...
Lepton
dj sets @ parties : 148-150 (occasionaly 152) dj sets @ home : 149-
Trolsk
Variation is the key, noone can dance to 150 bpm for too long, and 134 has a tendency to get boring.
psytones
130 + mmmhhmm... When it comes to trippy friendly trance. I can prefer the slower ones. And really like the works of Tatsu Records when it comes to slow trippy trance tracks. Other then that, I prefer 140 + when I want to dance and tripp =)

Kiph T. Elephant
Can we use decimals? I feel round numbers aren't accurate enough. edit: oops... now I noticed that you mentioned we can. So I would say about 138.329655729655551334333333333
Chrome
Less than 140 BPM. The craziest stuff was made at that speed. I also hold that more than 145 BPM canNOT be psytrance!
