Hmm... I've been wondering if an artist makes a song and it is not released to the public how come we can still get that song. Is it the infamous dat mafia or what??

np: Kox Box - Geomancer bOOm!!!

Well, the thing about unreleased songs is that Artists sometimes give a finished song to friends or family and other artsits. and sometimes these people pass it on to others and they passe it on, and in between there is this dude who puts them on audiogalaxy and BAM - byebye special song ... i even heard that people steal copied cd's with unreleased tracks while a dj isn't looking or even brake into the studio of artists ... talk about disrespect ...

Yeah, a friend of mine who runs a label has twice come down stairs in the middle of the night, because he heard noises, to find "guests" trying to find all his unreleased tuneage :-/

Once I played in Israel I found myself in a fight with 5 guys trying to steal my DAT bag. The result was a broken thumb. What really pissed me off was the fact that teh organisers did nothing to help me! Well luckely they did not suceed in stealing the DAT's but it's just another example of how low people will become in order to get some new or unrelleased music!

yeah... some people only think about themselves.....i´ve been screwed too by people i thought i could trust....

just check AudioGalaxy...

as an artist it feels good when you think you can trust someone with tracks...but nowadays i give them only to my dad, my best friend since kindergarden and my co-musicmaker....

ok, sure when i want to promote myself i have to give promos to bigtime party arrangers or labels...i guess that´s the main problem why the tracks can get out in the open...

just burn your CD from 112kbps mp3s before you give them to people if you wanna promote yourself...that´s a good enough quality to hear if it rox or not =)

here´s some interesting reading for you:

lol Janua.

In the end I managed to slip away with my DAT bag and into a waiting car of my friends.

The whole episode happened just as I was done with my DJ set.

My thumb is 100% ok today .-)

Yeah I also thought about kicking one of the guys butt (the most aggressive one) but it seemed more wise to get away since their friends stood quite close by...Did not want to make this into a full bar fight :-) with me alone against 10 freaked out guys.

well I have my thoughts about the unreleased tracks hype ... first of all , do you realy have to be member of an 'special' rippers ftp-club to have them ...

those unreleased tracks , aren't they actually the demo tracks artist send to labels ... then label dj's try them at parties and then when a track is good the label release it ...

i dunno , i don't care anyway . i want good music original , good mastered and covered with a nice package ...

btw Elysium ... that storry is so rude ... Looks like the Israeli scene is fucked up imo ... i heard that the Koxbox guys also got their material stolen in Israhell ... geeezzzz .. what an attitude , I realy hope things like that never ever will happen over here in Belgium ... although some people start stealing things :-( like gsm's , coats and bapacks ... damn .. what's going on in this world ...

ep. man i know exactly what you are talking about... this year this one really sleazy shady guy stole xp voodoo's case logic from goa.... useless fellow this, and the poor xp was coming around looking for him... well i found out who the thief was, he is a guy called nick and is from delhi (has longish hair and is a dush bag)... so if anyone knows nick, catch him and confront him... it saddens me to see such sleaze balls coming and totally spoiling the mood of the season.....

as for unreleased tracks being given out, actually the process is rather simple, make the track, master it, render it as a wav file, and then burn it onto a cd..once you have it in wav format there are a large number of things one can do to distribute it , such as mds, dats and cds.....
