well EP its this simple... i know a lot of dj's who have very little talent... they can mix a beat, and thats about it.... younger djs like myself and my friends are way more hard working than these guys.. we actually take out a part of our day to select and disseminate good tracks.. yet when it comes to any big parties, these guys get to play instead of us... why?.. because through artists and the dat mafia, these guys have all the unreleased tracks... this is very common among israeli and indian djs, actually among all djs.. for me its all about the music, i can't get myself to hang out for hours on end with the hippy/ artist crew, just to get their music.. i just can't take the whole scene for too long a time.... i play my music thats all... the downside to it is that people like you don't even know we exist, and hence we never ever get unreleased tracks.. so in short we are screwed in that sense; either i take time off and travel with my backpack and make friendships with people to get their music, or i just lump it.. so i choose the latter... so in end 2000, when i was still playing talamasca - hunter becomes hunted, the israelis were playing musica divonorum... a year before it was released..... see my point now?...

actually let me rephrase it, not all djs who play unreleased tracks are untalented, but the difference between them and us is that we guys are way more enthusiastic.. anyway EP, will you give me an unreleased track? i have been listening to your music for ages now.... although i liked your combination with the other goa great from your country jean borelli under sheyba better than older ellysium.... btw, is jean borelli still spinning house?.

To answer your post shortly (I will try). First of all I personally have not been swopping music with DJ's or giving out promos for years now. Why? because I just do not want to waste my time! I have better things to do.

Second. The record label that release my music is the label that choose who should have the music...not me. I have so many other things to do than to use my time on promotion. That's why I choose to have a label releasing my music at present time.

About your attitude toward other DJ's I can only say it's sad to se a upcomming DJ (good or bad) with so much jealousy. I honestly do not care which DJ is doing what and how. For me and the label that release my music it's a matter of getting my music exposed. They decide what DJ's they want to promote my music with.

Maybe you should try a bit harder and start to contact the labels for promo's - As for unreleased music I can't help you....It's all about hard work to find artists that will give you their music! I personally do not give anything ut except for people that I know well or feel a good connection with. By the way even that has changed now! In the future I do not give anything out before a release.

When I started out as a DJ noone knew me and I got no help. I made it (in my own little scale) by hard work and will power (I have stoped playing now)... I certantly did not go around with the attitude that other DJ's sucked and that i was better! - That way you will never make it!

it is not jealosy in any way EP.... and i don't think other dj's suck,.... i was talking about some djs who don't really know what they are playing, but are big on account of their unreleased stuff.. maybe i didn't express myself correctly in the above post.... i am not talking about djs like dimitri, goa gil, paul taylor etc. they are far superior to me :-)//, and my post was framed for a group of people. i.e. me and my friends (all of us are young)... we all have seen this happen to us.. but anyway i guess there is no sympathy from others here... i guess you have to be in our position to understand... and to go out and make an effort is not that hard, but only problem is that it takes time, something i don't have too much of because of my studies.... well we will make it man, you see in 3 years time... i am not cockky or arrogant, but i think confidence and believing to be the best are important in their own way... as long as its not over confidence.... i will continue doing the best i can with what i have, and the rest is all hard work and luck....

that apart, its good to hear that you have stopped giving out your music... but then the labels :-(.... anyway most of the promos are given out by them... i am not a revolutionary and don't want to change things... (see where the 60's hippies ended up...)... but i guess in my own way venting this out to other people in the scene is my therapy for this.......

but man i am not some cocky kid, i respect my elders... you forget that i am indian, its in our nature to respect the older and more experienced ones.....

anyway i always read your replies with great interest... you may not realize it, but you are giving me valuable input with even our critical posts....
