Thanks traveller for those kind words. That's why we make music...

Concerning the upcoming album, we are in touch with labels to sign it. But it's really long, and I can't say more for the moment. Maybe not for 2005, maybe some modifications, but we have to wait. And compose! ;)

maybe the search function would be a good idea?

"This is not about you, you egomaniac" Haha, sorry... but yeah, Fairytale gave me the 'inspiration' for the topic :P

It seem to me that you take it much more personal that i dare to join this debate and say what I think ;) Mayeb it's the usual "artists should be good boys and girls and not have an opinion" ?

296237

Yepski, this topic is made so we can bash you, without expecting a reply from you. Let's get real? Oppinion is entitled to everyone. Maybe not the usual, and maybe no need to pregroup me before I actually answer your question :)

I always finish debates if the ones I debate with care to not attack me, call me names and dont twist my words to their own advantage  ;)

Are you lying or are you ignorant? I fail to see another option. Whatever:

I don't really care if you answer this now or not, although it would be very interesting to see. I don't think it's very respectful just dissapearing from a conversation such as that.

It's just one of those things that happens.

296237

Of course. Clearly not one of those situations...

I hate to be told what i am not "allowed" to do when I make music. It's my creation and my decision what i want to use. You can critisise it all you like. That's cool. But at the end of the day I am the one that decide what I do. Nobody else.

Do you react the same to reviews? This is called feedback, I'm telling you what I think. If you don't care then you go CTRL+W (in Firefox). It's my oppinion and no one should care... it's a forum :)

Now if you could answer my question: how exactly did you gather that this was about "who did it first"?

Asura: Well you need to see I'm not telling you what to do, I just get dissapointed when I hear the exact same sample in two different and original songs... kind of breaks the whole originality thing. There's no fullproof way of avoiding this... but some things do help it occuring less. Your choice in the end, just giving my input. Btw, good song, and it was very well used ;)

Shaft: yeah :)

Well if my track inspired you to bitch about what samples that should not be used because someone else used it then it's indeed about me too. Easy as that.

Sorry but there's so many topics around this forum and what you migth consider very important to debate to the dead end is not nessesary that important to me. I remember that debate and I can see now that this is might where the shoe tightens and why you reacted so sharply to my comment in this thread. I knwo you got angry at me in that topic for writing my opinion so I am not surprised you also get angry here. Maybe if you could stay a bit more cool I would finish my debates with you. Food for thought ;)

Mate it's a forum - not the most dead serious thing in the world!... I doubt you finsh every single thread you've been involved in.. If you feel it's direspectful of me not to answer your post in a debate we had a while ago then I am sorry - but ce la vie!

I dont react at all to reviews. Frankly I dont really care that much about reviews. It's only one persons view. But normally people have sense enough to make ok reviews that say why they dont like the music or why they like it... It's not so important to me. At least the rarely bitch as mush as you do ;)

Now if you could answer my question: how exactly did you gather that this was about "who did it first"?

I honestly forgot that now... Is that ok or do I need to use more of my time finding out why?

Nevertheless, I understand and respect your opinion EP, cause some persons here (not you Alek) take a real pleasure to bash with a load of stupid prejudices, not knowing the person beside the artist and not respecting the huge work accomplished to propose the best they can. And above all not allowing an artist to express his own opinion, even if it is negative. Personaly, when I don't like something, I say what I think like any customer on this forum (cf about Shpongle or Entheogenic), and I explain why, always. A few fortunatly think that I don't have the right to give a negative opinion about another artist, that I am jealous or some others idiot things like that.

For those, that I respect even when they tell some or all of my works are bad (if there is an argument beside, of course, otherwise, I am pittyless ;) ) I would like to tell you won't prevent us to tell what we think, even if it's harsh, cause a forum is a freedom place, and their is no reason we should shut up, as their is no reason you should if you don't like what we make. I said! :)

Hehe... can you actually re-read what you wrote and find at least some sense in it? You seem very good at misinterpreting what I write, I assume with full intent. Angry? Are you serious? Practically in those two threads, after I have complied with all your rules to make the thread reply-worhty, and made some strong arguments, you backed off like a bitch as soon as you realized you were against the wall. Big on words and accusation, while not so much on facts... as you wish but you cannot expect me to regard your words with any respect.

Please notice I'm not being bitter or vengefull or whatever preordaned stereotpye you wish to shove me in... my honest oppinon which in the end doesn't even matter :)

Mate if I wanted to I could swollow and spit you out in a debate within minutes... Sorry that I forgot about those debates... It's hardly anything to do with being against the wall... As I said before and I'll repeat it for you again. I dont take these debates serious so i tend to wander off and something else kind of get my attention. If that upset you then let it be.

Dont talk about respect to me. Earn it yourself. End of story!

To get back to the subject of the original post I think it is a very interesting topic ( including the E.P bashing Alek bashing back session ) ;)

The thing is that it's very important to see the whole picture here and try and understand it - the world has changed a lot last 10 years... The technology allows artist much easier usage of high quality sample banks, and if lets say 15 years ago elecronic studio technitian would work hours on his ASR10 sampler to make a loop out of a voice and fit it to tempo etc., today it is matter of few seconds of work. As everything in life it has positive sides and negative ones. The positive sides is that the sound production has a lot of quality today and that there is much more music produced since sample based music is much easier to make. The negative side ofcourse involves the ART - less ART indeed and the general quality of music not as artistic and intricate as it was 10 - 15 years ago.

On the other hand and in close relationship to the topic - man check out the blues, rock etc.. In blues for last half a century same riffs been played and same lyrics been said - what matters basically is how u say it. If by the way u express yourself u can reach to the soul of your listener. If u go back to our sample based reality, I find it very close to 2 different guitarists making an attempt on same guitar solo and ofcourse making it in a different way since they are different... Thus 2 different trance bands interpret the same sample in a different way with a totally different arrangement
