RAH Posted July 16, 2005 Posted July 16, 2005 personally it 'numbs' my senses and much of my interest for complex, multi-layered music. If it has an easily recognizable melody or even better a voice is more appealing in those cases. i just wanted to see what people thought. Quote
Manuser Posted July 16, 2005 Posted July 16, 2005 in fact i think yes, but it's special because when i think of it, i don't even remember the music at all, even when i am slighly drunk, it's weird... my vote went for maybe. Quote
KAsolarium Posted July 16, 2005 Posted July 16, 2005 Hell yeah!! I mean , Psy works as good sober or drunk , but with crappy house and club music i must be drunk to dance :-) Quote

vancbc Posted July 16, 2005 Posted July 16, 2005 IMO being drunk is one of the lamest highs. I get a short lived mood lift, lose some inhibitions, feel swimmy in my head and then get tired and lethargic. Depressants suck. When the buzz starts to hit it feels like the promise of a truly great high and then it just doesn't go anywhere. Plus, alcohol hangovers are the worst of any drug I've tried. I'll take an entheogen or empathogen hangover anytime over that hot, restless, sicky, nauseous headachy feeling the day after drinking a lot. Oh yea...to answer the question......no, i don't enjoy music more when drunk. Quote

Time_Trap Posted July 16, 2005 Posted July 16, 2005 maybe.... i prefer it 10x to be stoned while listening to music, especially electronica... but i have to agree with KAsolarium Quote

staffan Posted July 17, 2005 Posted July 17, 2005 define drunk... at a party 12 beers or more... with the right act or dj, no problem to get into trance. but at home... 2 beers... always have something else to do.... Quote
khogg Posted July 17, 2005 Posted July 17, 2005 No tequila thanks, but a couple of cold beers and some blissful psy on the back porch in the sun is just right sometimes. I don't need to drink to enjoy music, but if you are out, a few drinks adds to the overall enjoyment. No need to always get hangover. Mmmm.... cold beer. Later... Quote
agia_igoumeni Posted July 17, 2005 Posted July 17, 2005 blah blah blah... when im drunk i enjoy RAMONES music! one of the best bands to listen whan u re drunk! geia mas! Quote
pedro Posted July 17, 2005 Posted July 17, 2005 As mentioned before - smoking enhances the experience far more than drinking. I have just come back from the Glade Festival where I drank the grand total of 6 beers in three days and thoroughly enjoyed myself. My lungs, though, do not think I am such a clever old man... krelmatrix Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 I wouldn't say it makes me enjoy it more or less - the intoxicated effect I get from alcohol allows me to pick up different elements of the music than I would were I sober, tripping, high, or whatever else. Quote
Mindtwister Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 Hmmm...I get very happy when im drunk so when I listen to music that makes me happy when im sober, then you can figure out the rest... Quote
Sour Milk Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 I chose hell yeah! but this last time I was so tired of partying for 3 straight days that I couldnt feel the music that much. Quote
Frontier Psychiatrist Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 I enjoy the music when it's good. I drink alcohol to enter my silly mode and to get some more confidence. Quote
