cubicidal
If you're looking for true ambient (no beat whatsoever), check out Liquid Morphine and Oophoi... incredible stuff.
Bahamut
If you're up for something a bit more adventurous: Michael Stearns - Planetary Unfolding (1981) It's old but it's awesome alright...and sort of psychedelic as well. Good for headphones listening in bed, of course For me it was a very special experience. (ps you probably need to d/l this) 301862 Yesterday I revisited this piece and I must say: WOW! Amazing, what a beautiful experience... I don't understand why it is so obscure, it's even hard to find on mp3. This should be a classic and it's definately some of the best psychedelic, atmospheric electronic music EVAARRRGHHH!!! It's really a composition with melodies, climaxes and interesting, surprising transitions. Some moments are so overwhelming and beautiful I got goosebump all over. Believe me, this is a one of a kind experience. Also amazing is that it was made with one modular synth (except some vocals).

sherlockalien
Abakus - That Much Closer To The Sun (2004) Ishq - Magik Square of the Sun (2005) VA - Butterfly Dawn (DRAGONFLY`s release) 301541 yes I really like all of them too but I guess abakus and butterfly dawn have beat and stuff, and he wanted more beatless... ISHQ is the way to go, man... I recently got this ´quality relaxation´ cd, and maaan, ishq´s track is a masterpiece!! beautiful visuals.. ishq is actually one of the only beatless ambient I can really enjoy.. it never gets boring, and its so colourful and well done How can somebody recommend HUVA Network? I'm just listening to it (giving it it's prob 5th chance) It's just boring all the way down ;< Nothing happens...I'd prob like it if it'd be beatless but no, it has beats and it's way too agressive... but the aggressivity isn't something that's made well... it's predictable, non-touching, repetitive... pretty much music with no soul :e sorry for off-topic 301936 I agree completely.. huva network is boring.. who was it, who very perfectly described it as: Yawnbient haha perfect description.. at least imo (sorry for those who really like it)

Jean Michel Jarre - Magnetic Fields Is a classic as well from 1981 as well and I think better than Oxygen...
