ajay_spunky
hi people i am tryng to make psychedelic trance for a long time i am getting some success in it but i cant understand 1 thing to make trance music more interesting the same loop is played again and again but with some variations like sometimes the pitch goes high, seems as if the notes have been changed but actually they are the same the loop notes are same ,but as the same loop goes on it varies can anyone tell me how can these variations be made thanks ajay
Daze
Well for example, if you have a base melody you can try to add some extra notes here and there between the base melody notes. Make sure they apply to the same melody scale, and that the extra notes don't interfere with the base melody. If done correctly you will get a slightly different melody, that... kind of is the same Experiment with this, it's the only way to learn! Good luck. benf52
a lot of it is filters... and automation (pitch, filters mostly)... try to automate certain parameters adn see what it does.. then also with melodies u can try to change the melodies but it's hard to do if u don't have a music background or u don't know the scales and chords... dj mylo
a lot of it is filters... 301884[/snapback] Yeah, try the Step-Filter in Cubase and you can make an "FX loop" to affect your melody loop. This gives quite a nice variation.
Shaft
Also, add some extra bassdrum notes that are not on every beat of the bar.
Cybernetika
It has been pretty much mentioned: It is mostly about automation. An LFO on the cutoff, a triggered gate Effect, some slight percussion variations every 2nd, 4th or 8th bar will do most of the work
