Guest antic
My comment has nothing to do with presence or abscence of PLUR! Over the time we've seen many types of covers, trying to attract different people - we had covers for: drug-heads -> fractals, colorful, ultraviolet & caleidoscopic images etc. ufo-believers -> ufo's, aliens etc. hetero-sexuals -> all those half-naked girls on covers, hardly sexual if you ask me car-fans -> psychedelic tuning & GT4 covers rock/metal-fans -> skazi & other covers with guitars "devil worshippers" -> all this dark, gloomy and "scary" covers kids -> "La La Land" and other similar stuff So, when I saw the one I posted on previous page I thought "ok, that's something new - cover that is supposed to attract gay-people". That's all, I marely was trying to state the fact, not judge it! My apologies again for all who felt attacked / hurt by my comment! However I find it funny that you people allow bashing of catholics, muslims, skazi-fans, isratrancers and other gropus, but when someone says a bad word about gay-community he's automatically becoming a closedminded fuck - that's hypocrisy (sp?) Tatsu
seems like we're trying to attract gay people to our scene now (no offense Tatsu ) 526606 Guys! I have nothing against gay people - sorry if you got this impression! But, you all laugh at typical sexist covers like this "Buckle Up" cover and the one from previous page with a half-naked girl ("Kick me up"), which try to attract heterosexual men. On the other hand there is a cover I found, which to me doesn't look very attractive, the guy on it has definite feminine face-shape, has makeup and overly stylish hair... I'm not a specialist, but to me it looks gay hence my remark... I find it funny and as much stupid and unnecesary as naked women on psytrance covers... You people are really taking things too serious, especially in this kind of humorous threads... And about the thing that scene belongs to no one - I'll remind you that next time you'll start bashing Skazi-fans or Isratrance. Who knows, maybe they love psytrance more than you, even if they have no taste in music and are but teens? "Be openminded" 527645 I don't know but to attract gay people to the scene you need more than an android (that's what I think this cover wants to show, but I might be wrong) on a CD cover. Just in case you don't know there are allready a lot of psy-prog tracks played at gay parties. Progressive is rather big here and prog-house gets mixed with prog-psy and so on. Seems quite a few people are homophobic on these boards. I'd be very interested in hearing the reasoning behind it as I can't work it out. 527773 I sort of agree about that. Anybody remember the thread about Yahel's last cover with a member bashing him as gay and so on, very homophobic imho? Also Nightmare Trancer's comment speaks for itself. Funny thing is that in this society you get flooded by heterosexualtilty and sex in general; not only because most of the people life the hetero lifestyle (which is totaly ok of course) but also because advertisements, magazines and nearly everything else uses it to promote their stuff. And then some people can't take it when somebody is openly gay and acts a as a typical faggot? Oh please...
DeathPosture
http://www.essexuncovered.com/clubbersshop.../101005/gay.gif 527866 ... 527873 I think there'll always be homophobia, islamophobia or any phobia for that matter, in any given society... Sure, psytrance and in particular hippie communities are among the most open-minded, liberal people... But the still, the phobias are there... Let's just be happy that we're not on a right wing board..

Let's just be happy that we're not on a right wing board.. 527875 I agree about that. But I start to believe the longer the more that psytrance people are not as half as open-minded as they are said to be, or used to be... Not so much because of anti-gay comments (because there are not much of them) but because of the rest of the stuff I read here and in other forums: I mean you don't like a certain style of music, bash it like there's no to tomorrow, hippies suck anyway, snob peope suck, well basicly everythign sucks that's different from myself... I know I'm exagerating but I can't help myself. Pleeease forgive me!
DeathPosture
I know what you mean Tats, and you of all people here, indeed have the right to voice your opinion on such matters... Ignorance is bliss. Fear of the unknown leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering... Haha - that's Yoda for you! Anyway, such a shift from liberal to less-liberal views is indeed not something to be proud of in our little community, but as you said, I think it has to do with the growth... It's not very underground and hippy-shanti any more - in fact I'm pretty certain that the hippies are now a minority within the scene they created themselves... Aided by the internet where information flows freely - and the anonymousity of the internet is ironically also the reason why people can voice their less liberal viewpoints in the comforts of their own homes - in stead of facing a gay/muslim/eskimo person at a party. Hope you catch my drift here - I know I'm rambling... Pleeease forgive me! 527880 /DP

Tatsu
I guess I catch your drift very-well, it seems to be exactly what I'm talking about. Fortunately the scene is still very hippie like here, at least from what I can tell since I don't visit parties that often anymore. Maybe it's because Switzerland really is a small country compared to Germany and most other countries in Europe. Still we have a lot of parties and new people comming to the scene so it can not only be that. But I guess there is not much we can do about it, besides trying to talk some sense into people, without brainwashing them with our ideals how the scene should be (free acid for everybody!! ).
