I often read about aliasing here and aliasing there but I´ve absolutely no clue what that means. Can anyone enlighten me about this one?

Hmm, well, fuck me... google is your friend I guess <_<

 

So practiccally, I can avoid aliasing by setting the sampling rate up to 96KHz, 192KHz or whatever and then dither it down to 48KHz. Or do I have the same problem again then?

hehe, no... I´m just wondering and like to know. OK, obviously it´s not very important when it comes to sampling.

What does it mean in the context of virtual analog synths then? How can a VA produce aliases?
