Guest antic
This may be a little offtopic, though I'd like to know what is everybody's opinion on this: This year I've decided that whenever I order something from psyshop I'll choose the CDs considering the following two things: 1. There has to be some old CD (as I not always had the money to buy all the good ones that were coming out). 2. There has to be somekind of "flow" or "progression" in my order. So, for example yesterday I ordered: 1. Ott - Blumenkraft (downbeat / chill, old classic) 2. Jaia - Fiction (progressive / housey, very musical) 3. Orion - Electric Behaviour (almost "full-on") 4. VA - Wild Rumpus (totally twisted psychedelic madness, though not dark) There maybe should be something from the "dark-" or "tech-trance" sub-genre at the end of the list, though I can't find nothing I like at the moment (the only dark-trance releases I dig were "GOW & Metaloids" and last Deviant Species album). So, have any of you got any pattern similar to the one above? Or maybe you just buy whatever new comes up?
Cinos
I usually theme the cds so I order chill once, then old-school, never full-on...
Insejn
If you enjoyed the GoW & Meteloids cd I think you should check out VA - Moon Unit. A couple of GoW tracks on that and other twisted tracks. Give it a try. I don't have a pattern like that. I just buy whatever I find good
Tatsu
Nice way of ordering CDs! I never do it in that style since there is so much stuff I want I listen to the samples (or go to the store) and buy the stuff that I want the most. No matter which genre or from which time period it is. But since I rarely buy progressive or chill-out stuff it might be a bit difficult to make something like this up. Guest antic
Nice way of ordering CDs! I never do it in that style since there is so much stuff I want I listen to the samples (or go to the store) and buy the stuff that I want the most. I totally understand what you're saying, though I always have this problem: I want - say - 6 CDs and I have a cash to buy only 4. When 3 of those CDs are full-on, 1 chill, 1 prog and 1 tech-trance then the choice is easy - I take the one full-on I want the most and leave the 2 others in a list for the next purchase... The other principle is that there always has to be some old CD, because you never know when they'll get out of print...
Tatsu
That's true, I also try to order older CDs first when I discover something that suits me. But I allready have spend a lot of money of classic and semi-old stuff so I can concentrate on the newer releases.
