Since I review mostly older stuff for which there are no samples available at Psyshop, Saikosounds and the likes, I think maybe some of you people are a little more interested in how this or that old album sounds like. And how about browsing through my CD collection (Discogs link in my sig) and making requests what I should review next (though I can't promise anything 100% as I'm a lazy writer and university continues in a week ) And do you like my reviews at all? And as it will not be hi-quality full tracks, I can't see the harm in that... It's just like a mix really - technically you should ask permission from all the artists, but no-one does that... RAH Posted August 28, 2005 Share Posted August 28, 2005 wow... if you're taking the time to do the sample things yourself, much respect i ussually just take them from saiko... there was one instance where i wanted to place some samples but i couln't find any so i just ask the label (Dada Stream) and they were very straightforward and uncomplicated about it. I'm guessing 1 - 2 min samples are harmless anyway... people in this scene i've found, are on the majority very relaxed about things... so ask, or not... it's up to you i guess - your reviews are a nice breezy read and to be honest i don't know many of them, so i suppose samples would be interesting Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I'll start ripping my usual 128 kbps 1 min. samples and see how it works, if I run out of space I can still change the bitrate. And I'll just take the 4th or 5th minute or so of each track (depends on the average track length on the disc), no matter if it's the best part. Always taking the best part will spoil it a bit, don't you think? Especially if someone actually plans to buy them First samples will be put up tomorrow!
