Guest transphere
goahead vol 16 is out now (since about a week I think) and I wonder if there's anyone here who has bought it (or heard it)? Is it more goatrance this time? Or just more techno? I saw the tracklisting and there are many big names, like X-Dream, Electric Universe, Talamasca, GMS, Space Cat, Ticon etc. Well, maybe this thread is a bit pointless since I intend to buy the compilation no matter what... because it's goahead. I just want to hear your opinions about this compilation or goaheads in general. And by the way, no one has reviewed Ouija's new album Infectious! Why? Guest cyber
Goahead....wow...that's a perfect example of deceiving people. It's been a loog time since they changed their style into minimal/progressive or even if you wanna call it techno sometimes but they still kept thir Goahead name and if someone who is not as knowledgable or is new to the scene will think "oh I see Ticon is Goa".... I don't have anything against any kind of music and don't mean to offend anyone that likes minimal or/and progressive but I don't think it's right to label something "Goa" when it's not. Back in a day I never thought that the name "Goa" will be used as an advertising/marketing tool
Guest Mike D
Oh boy, so Cyber chirps up and no doubt within 2 mor eposts a masive fight over "Minimal Is Better Than Melodic". Don't bother Cypher, I've been there and fought many a time, and it ain't gonna work! Goahead is one of the best series and has done prbably the second best job after Tantrance in showing us the true progression and the circl of psychadelic electronic music. Guest Epic Oprahmata
I used to be a loyal Goa-Head follower (I gave up at v. 13), but I agree, the series became too progressive. If you like progressive then you're in luck, but if you like a fuller sound there are dozens of better comps. I have to admit, though, that each Goa-Head volume always has one or two killers on it, but for a 2CD set, that's too few in my opinion.
