Trouble getting a good wind up...

hey im having trouble synthesisng a good wind up sound. im after something like a motor engine starting up raising pitch over a couple of bars.

 

the method i have been using is trying different sounds in different instruments using a band pass filter and raising the cutoff with a high resonance while modulating pitch but i just cant get it to sound good.

 

any advice would be greatly appreciated thx in advance look forward to ur response ;

Hi, and welcome to the forum

 

What you are looking for is a function called "Portamento" or "Glide" This will make the pitch glide over many bars if u want that.

 

I use pro53 for this effect

you could also automate the "PITCH WHEEL" on your synth. play around with the settings for the pitch wheel and you can get a steeper or more gradual "climb".
