qa2pir
Yep, that's the case. I am deeply in need of something (preferably oldschool) that has deeply emotional melodies instead of repeating patterns. Shpongle has some of it, tracks like Behind Closed Eyelids are what i'm looking for, with long, windling, sensitive melodies that blow your mind. They can be ambient or goa or pretty much any style. Are there tracks like this?
Guest Astro Cortex
Do you have a discogs account? I think it's easier to recommend you something if I can see what you have already. It's easier then to determine what you might be looking for, you know. I would have suggested Children of the Bong and the likes now, but I see you already got it . qa2pir
Children of the Bong is great, and has some very nice and subtle melodies - aswell as upfront, aggressive melodies. But why ain't there any music with 32 bars long melodies? It annoys me And about "the likes"... What bands are the likes of CotB?
Guest Astro Cortex
But why ain't there any music with 32 bars long melodies? It annoys me 356979 uhh, I don't think I really care about that. A good melody is a good melody, it doesn't solely depend on how many bars a loop lasts. And about "the likes"... What bands are the likes of CotB? 356979 *checks his discogs* Timeshard Knights of the Occasional Table Spacetime Continuum (Sea Biscuit album at least) and to a certain degree: Astralasia of course The Orb and perhaps Higher Intelligence Agency if you like it with an ethnic touch: Banco de Gaia Sad World (old Fax stuff, but SW 2&3 are still available at normal price, I tell you where if you're interested. I especially recommend part 3, it's mindblowing) I hope that helps a bit
visine
The ULTIMATE melodic bliss. Good luck finding it though
seraph
Well, it seems that you don't know that many old school releases cause you wouldn't be comapring what you are looking for with Shpongle... There is PLENTY of deep melodic goa trance, almost every highlighted album in the Review section. But from what I can suggest, here it goes ( ) : Hiscore - True Freedom Transwave - Cycles Of Life Brain Accent - Orange Acid Total Eclipse - Transparent Mind Battle Of The Future Buddhas - Mr. Fantastic Green Nuns Of The Revolution - Ring Of Fire Shakta - Spiritual Beings In Physical Bodies X-Dream - We Created Our Own Happiness Dimension 5 - Deep Space 5D Miranda - Steps To The Stars Blue Planet Corp. - Antidote Power Source - Tinkerbell MFG - New Kind Of World Chi-A.D. - Eye Am The I Cosmosis - San Yacid Chakra - Hallucinator Psychaos - Intellect Asia 2001 - Vertigo Etnica - Microdive Prana - The Earth Indoor - The Key Pleiadians - Maia Biot - Radiation MFG - Overload and many many more... If you need more, go and search for other melodic or goa trance suggestions, I always write enormous ammount of it cause there is SO MUCH to explore. qa2pir
Well i happen to think shpongle has some of the most beautiful melodies. Are you suggesting that shpongle belongs to the bad part of this scene? And yes, i had only heard 3 of those tracks =) but what im looking for is not traditional goa melodies, built in patterns but more like long, improvised melodies that are not bound to a certain pattern. You can find it in Ozric stuff too and Shamanix by Hallucinogen. About Dimension 5: Yeah, that's a great album, a favorite. But not the kind of melodic im searching for, sorry =(

Daze
Bpm - 051008 part 1 Bpm - 051008 Part 2 Maybe not what your looking for... but since Ozric was mentioned - and hey, they're free.
Fugpuggler
yeah, i dont think yer gonna find much as good as the shpongle and co, but id say goa is the main style yer gonna find all those epic melodies, and ive noticed that seraph always has excellent lists, my favs being the artists blue planet, chi ad and dimension 5 (to me the PUREST essence of the TRUE goa spirit) for the most melodies and depth... also try: pleiadians - asterope, and indoor - naxus, koxbox - neurobic, cosmosis - cannaboid, jaia - breathing ocean, and ill mention again my fav, chi ad - exit eternity could be added to the list, and for non goa, ONLY infecteds pgm (prehistoric goa mood) does it for me as well as the best goa, but im sure you know that one... but other than these im guessing that nothin else exists yet that comes as close to shamanix (my fav hallu track) and behind (my 2nd fav shpong track)... oh yeah, the first entheogenic album comes the closest to those for me, but then again thats pretty obvious... all we can do is give ya the best of the other psychadelic emotions than just the shpongled types... qa2pir
I suppose... When i grow up im gonna make jazztrance Prehistoric Goa Mood... Is that the pgm on BPE?
