Guest neomenia Posted December 10, 2001 Posted December 10, 2001 did u know that... by the mid 60's there were some music that was taking a psychedelic direction (later known as psychedelich rock, among others). by the end of 60's and the begining of 70's, lots of bands playing with that type of sound (eg: pink floyd, tangerine dream, faust, jean-michel jarre, et al) start experimentations with electronic devices and analogs process, fx boxes and using the latest technologies in sound ingeniering to develope a new kind of sound: progressive rock, known as the fountain of inspiration for the most interesting sounds (in my and others opinion). the better and most experimenting-highqualitysounds-propositive stage of the before mentioned groups, could be found in this era: the progressive rock that followed psychedelic rock. later a bunch of italians took it and make a lot of things with it (progressive rock), among others gabba. by the late 80's it was dead. hehehehehehe, something to think, but not to take seriously. just messing with similarity! a big don't-let-psy-die Bom : } Quote
Guest AutoMath Posted December 10, 2001 Posted December 10, 2001 skulle inte tro det pysen... progressive rock --> gabba wonder how you came to that conclusion. Would be very interested if you could enlighten me about this. Quote
Guest neomenia Posted December 11, 2001 Posted December 11, 2001 i guess i didn't make myself clear. by the mid-late 80's the progressive rock evolved to other types of music, and one of them -(the one that some italian bands were doing, and wanted/wish to sound like PFM, il baricentro, il bolo, leorme,etc- evolved to a bad copy of the progressive italian rock wich I and a very extended part of music historicians (spell), consider as gabba. (the next phase of italian progressive rock, not the begining of the movement) do this enlighten you? never say/thought progressive rock = gabba Bom : } Quote
