RAH
My rents just got a Super Audio CD player and i got to hear it tonight with classical music working on 5 channels plus the sub-woofer @ 96 Hz and and i couln't stop wondering how the hell would that sound with a pumping psychedelic treat working on every channel. most of this stuff is used for classical, but i mean how much juice can you get out of hearing a violin crispier than if the man himself was playing it right there. Electronic music would benefit tremendously from this kind of technology if it wasn't for the fact the stuff is so expensive to mass produce (i assume). maybe in the future more economically succesful acts will consider it. I wouln't mind checking out the new IM even if it sucks just got take a peak at seeing them use all resources available. i was speaking to friend recently thats more into producing techno-ambient-idm-acustic stuff and he was planning on recording some stuff using this technology. Does it differ much from the old methods? any chance of seeing this stuff on psy trance label soon you think? that would be kind of cool, heh? Frontier Psychiatrist
Well, the price is quite high. And i don't think that the labels are too motivated to go and to finance this kind of stuff right now. I heard that Dado was working on something like that. Donno more. dj mylo
I thought more artists would have mixed for 5.1 by now, but nobody really did. I heard that Simon was gonna release an album mixed for 5.1 but it never seemed to be released??? I guess psy is behind the times in many respects. I guess it's a finacial issue on both ends!
